"You that bump in the night, that threatens the sacred peace of lovers, that would rob us of our freedom, in the name of the Moon Lady I WILL bump back." "In the name of the Moon, I shall punish you!"

Last session the speaking of my character's oath had an interesting effect on one of the other players. I introduced my oath this session and we had already had several minor encounters where I had pronounced it, when we were in a tavern where I saw that one of the criminals we were looking for was stupid enough to carve his name in the table, so I approached him and softly spoke the oath. The other player had not identified the criminal yet, but upon hearing the oath he was suddenly in full battle mode as he knew those words meant it was time for combat! :D

"Say your farewells, mortal. Your end is nigh."
"Death does not take lightly to those who outstay their welcome."
"M'lady bids you welcome."
This guy in particular worships the Raven Queen.

"It's just been revoked!"
"Tongan Ninja!"
"Now is the winter of your discontent!"
"By Grabthar's hammer... by the Sons of Warvan... you shall be... avenged."
I'm actually looking forward to D&D Next. I think that every edition had some really awesome qualities, and every edition has truly awful design flaws. I don't expect Next to be any different, but if WotC is actively trying to incorporate the good bits into one unified whole, then I do expect it to be worth playing.

So I've decided to roll a Drow Avenger of Sephanine(long non-angst story for all you drow angst haters).
Against an unaligned foe "I am the end of evil, good... and you." Against a good foe "The selfless usually end themselves, but you're an exception..." Against a evil foe "Selfishness destroys your foes, but mine is greater than yours." Against an elf, eladrin or drow "So... I must slay my own kind? Sephanine weeps today, but not for me...."

"In the name of the Moon, I shall punish you!" Heh...Too easy.
I'd love to stat up Cutey Honey as an Avenger of Sehanine who focuses on the 'Love' aspect but stupidly Imposter Armor doesn't exist in hide form ><
Hmm...
"The Moon does not wish to shine upon you anymore."
I love Horseshoecrabfolk.
What I love most about them is that they seem to be the one thing that we all can agree on.

This is the one I use for our campaigns god of luck, madness and adventure.
"Kelric is here, too bad you won't be for long" or "I'm going to paint the walls with your blood and then take your treasure"
