I've made the evil twin of my previous avenger ... I've tried to mix in some references to blood and such.
You should watch the 'burnt sacrifice' scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The high priest's invocation might work - and it's even in a foreign language so it sounds more menacing.
Best complements I have yet received: Spoiler:Show
Making it up as I go along: {BRJN} If I was writing the Tome of Lore, I would let Auppenser sleep. But I also would have him dream. In his dreaming he re-activates the innate powers of (some) mortal minds. Or his dreaming changes the nature of reality - currently very malleable thanks to Spellplague &c. Or whatever really cool flavor text and pseudo-science explanation people react positively to. {Lord_Karsus} You know, I like that better than the explanations for the Spellplague.
Prepped ahead of time: I started the thread "1001 Failed Interrogation Results" {ADHadh} These are all good and make sense! I just can't come up with something that's not covered here and is not completely ridiculous.
Active Characters: LFR Half-elf StarLock6 Gondolin Nightstar AoA Dwarf Guardian Druid6 Narvik from House Wavir
Character A-building: Neverwinter Dwarven Invoker / Heir of Delzoun / worships Silvanus (!) "Truenamer" - speaks Words of Creation
Concepts I'm kicking around: "Buggy" Wizard - insect flavor on everything Halfling Tempest Fighter - just because nobody else is doing it Shifter Beast-o-phile Druid - for PoL campaign

Mmm. I've seen that movie many times. Unfortunately, I'm not playing an avenger anymore. We made it to level 30 a few months ago, and when the campaign ended, she ascended to the heavens as a fledgling deity (even though the campaign was set in Eberron). We're now playing a nostalgic AD&D 1e Greyhawk "slavers" campaign. Thanks anyway, though.
I think you're right. I think it goes "In Brightest Day, In Darkest Night, No Evil Shall Escape My Sight, [Something] [Something], Green Lantern's Light!" Except, y'know, the proper line instead of [Something] [Something]
It's
In brightest day. In blackest night. No evil shall escape my sight. Let all who worship evils might. Beware my power. GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!
yes, i quoted the entire green lantern oath in one go. i'm a geek. get used to it.
as for my battle cry i don't like to let my enemies know i'm going to kill them unless i am striking the final blow on a most hated enemy

I don't know why else you would be swinging a big sharp metal object at them (or big blunt one if you use a hammer)...
You could, under your breath, mutter "Bless the Maker and his passing" I referenced above, just before you explode into action. It adds cinematic drama to the occasion.

Last heard TAKEN by an avenger of Tiamat (goddess of greed, natch):
"This power is mine, this is my light. Be it in bright of day or black of night, I lay claim to ALL that falls within my sight! To take what I want, THAT IS MY RIGHT!"
