Who clearly likes to pose for photos while his brothers are demolished behind him. :P
The background was supposed to be just an example of the kind of life he's lived, but I guess it looks like he is just standing around and posing in the middle of a battlefield.

Are you kidding? The truly cool know they're cool, and he's got a rep to keep, so when the camera turned on him (like he knew it would), he had to put on his best pose! Flex a little muscle for the babes, play to the camera, then jump back in to chew gum and kick ass! :D
(Actually, I just took it as a mood setter.)

I don't know what'a weirder... The fact that he posed in the middle of a fight to get his picture taken, or that they have CAMERAS in D&D!
(j/k: I see that he's supposed to look like he's standing in front of a mural. maybe if a filter was run over it, it might look more like one. Hope that helps!  )

So...I took the liberty and downloaded GIMP and played around with it so I can get a picture of my genasi paladin. It's my first attempt so please let me know if you have suggestions!

I loved this. I, too, used Zhao Yun as a base model for a Night Elf Druid character I was considering for a World of Warcraft d20 game.
For some reason, the anime versions of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms characters really work for elvish models.

BEFORE (LEFT), AFTER (RIGHT)   This was my character, a Poisondusk Lizardfolk that I edited to better match ongoing events within the Eyes of the Lich Queen Eberron module, namely the gaining of a new aberrant dragonmark (despite being of an inappropriate race). To personalize it a bit more, I also made him look fiercer looking (longer claws and teeth, more pointed fins, barbed arrowhead, and a far more menacing eye-socket shape). I also removed the sword on his back since my character doesn't possess one and changed his bow into a "dragonbone" bow. :D
