Drop the PC nonsense. Laying waste to thousands of enemies by raining fire and death from the sky is women's work, dammit! By: Boraxe

He looks cool enough, but just try to imagine the punishing fist of god going into a shop and ordering white thigh-high boots.

I love Horseshoecrabfolk.
What I love most about them is that they seem to be the one thing that we all can agree on.

Er, the avenger in my campaign is a street rat with the spellplague. He hasn't bathed, and wears tattered thirdhand clothing...

Thats a really cool concept. I like the fact that he's a smelly fanatic. Kind of makes you think of all the crazy people in NYC who preach the end of the world.

I couldn't find him with his 'the end is nigh' board, but cloth armor and flaming longsword works for me. Spoiler:

It has been said before by wiser men than I, but bears repeating here. I'm waiting for just the right campaign to come along, then I'm going to play an avenger from a corrupt church, who acts as their hitman. -By "just the right campaign" I mean the comedy-laden, cheesy one.
Seriously, though, you should check out the PbP Haven. You might also like Real Adventures, IF you're cool. | Knights of W.T.F.- Silver Spur Winner | | 4enclave, a place where 4e fans can talk 4e in peace.

Good thoughts here. I figure Avenger a bit assassin -like, although a lot more straightforward in his techniques. So, he uses a heavy cloak with hood allows him to pass unnoticed; If it's dark in colour, it works as camouflage when sneaking in dark, if it is neutral in colour, it works in crowds, and if it is bright in colour, it works as a ceremonial cloth, one that invokes fear in enemies of the church. The last one obviously isn't used if subtlety is needed I'd say that avenger would use a large cloak that can be turned around, for crowd vs. stealth missions, or alternatively one-sided but darkish neutral. Another cloak would be for PR missions. Highly mobile avenger can also use his cloak to deceive his opponents about his exact position, explaining some of his improved AC. Clothes underneath may be changed with the cloak, but the cloak is the major piece of cloth for Avenger.

To be honest I always pictured Avengers as bad asses in robes with huge swords like the class picture and like Altair from Assassin's Creed. I'm going with this idea for an avenger character in Ebberon who is a holy assassin for the Silver Flame.

Love the soul caliber pic. He is definitely my idea of an avenger. The big weapon is what gives it away. Replace scythe with big axe/sword and you've got yourself a fashionable avenger.
