What kind of names would a doppelganger have? Is it similar to human? elf? Any ideas of where to find a list?
I'm planning on having multiple names initially because my part would not know my true identity(doppelganger), but I want to have a true name, whereas the rest are fake names for the facades that I put on.

The closest i can get would be the Changelings in Eberron. The names section there states "Changeling names are usually monosyllabic and seem to other races more like nicknames than proper names." It lists Bin, Dox, Fie, Hars, Jin, Lam, Nit, Ot, Paik, Ruz, Sim, Toox, and Yug as examples.

I think that you should try to create a name on your own, something that sounds in a good way to you. Of course it's only an advice, but usually i hate to take a name from a list and play with it.

I agree, but you also don't take a name like Elrin and give it to a dwarf. (Elrin obviously an Elven name).
There are certain naming structures for each race.

It's all about irony. My doppelganger bard was Aletia, which is a Greek name meaning truth. Took the guises of Halisi, Mako, Satya, Verity, anything with the same meaning. (Actually came back to bite me, the DM had a detective-ish guard captain who gradually started catching on.) Naozumi's another classic. Japanese, means Honesty and Innocence. Find a good baby name site that contains the ability to search by meaning. Then find things with honor, virtue, or other symbols of good, upright character.

Hmmm i think i understand what you're saying. Like "Elrindin, Erenil, Veredithil" and so on are elven names, because the "sound" elven, as "Mudrok, Bodrolf, Uddrarth" are dwarven names.
Well, in my opinion i'll search for very complex names (something like "Szissth", or sounds that remind you a creepy/sinister thing), middle lenght (about 4 or 7 letters).

Here's what I did:
Step 1. Roll 1d20 for the first consonent (1=b, 2=c etc. I left out Y.)
Step 2. Roll 1d6 for a vowel (1=a, 2=e etc.). If a 6 is rolled, roll again twice for two vowels, ignoring any further 6 results.
Step 3. Repeat step 1 for a final consonent.
I just kept doing that until I came up with a name I liked.

If I recall correctly, changelings tend to have short, single-syllable names. I've always wanted to name mine (changeling whose form is ever-shifting, very capricious and whimsical wizard or feylock, when I eventually get to play instead of DMing) Od. :D
(I employ zie/zie/zir as a gender-neutral counterpart to he/him/his. Just a heads-up.)
Essentials definitely isn't for me as a player, and I feel that its design and implementation bear serious flaws which fill me with concern for the future of D&D, but I've come to the conclusion that it isn't going to destroy the game that I want to play. Indeed, I think that I could probably run a game for players using Essentials characters without it being much of a problem at all. Time will tell, I suppose.

I loved my Doppleganger's name, Rusty Shackleford.
Played him briefly during my group's "get to learn 4e" sessions. Oh, what fun.

If I ever get around to playing a doppelganger, I plan on naming them Ikol. It's Loki spelled backwards, and as we all know Loki was a god of lies. Otecoy is an anagram for Coyote, another trickster deity, but of Native American origin. If you want a more European feel, Puck is a very good one. If you want a list of Trickster deities, go here.
