They would require my source code, and I don't have plans to release it.

Oh, right - you mean no ability scores show up. That's because, as has been explained above, the race modifier doesn't overwrite whatever you put into the ability score box. It's accounted for automatically by the modifier calculation.

That I understand.

In the middle of page 1 though, under the Race Features section there's a box labelled Ability Mods. No matter what race is chosen, this always remains blank unless the user enters something themselves.

Quite right. To be perfectly honest, I had forgotten about that box. =)

Since people seem to be watching this, a quick update. I've reworked ability stat handling just a bit - added boxes to show racial bonuses and a button for using the point system for initial stats where desired. I've also fixed the Toughness and Jack-of-all-Trades feats so their bonuses auto-calc appropriately. More changes will happen before the next version is ready.

Oooh, Sounds great - I can't wait.

Not to be impatient or anything (Really! I'm just curious) What kind of a time frame are we talking about? How much time do these updates take you (I know nothing of programming or really anything about computers at all, so I'd like to know more about what you do.)

It depends entirely on the code framework put into place. Some things are really easy (adding controls to the form and hooking them up to the dependency network), but it took a while for the infrastructure to be setup so that future modifications aren't so hacky. Other things aren't so quick if you're trying to preserve code flexibility and avoid hackish solutions to one-shot problems (like the Toughness feat, for example - nothing else in core sourcebooks does a per tier HP bonus). Throw in spending time with my family and my full-time job, and I don't have a whole lot of free time as it is.

I keep getting sidetracked from tackling equipment with other fixes and improvements (like the ability point allocation system). I just finished (tonight, even) having selectable racial ability bonuses upon race selection. Of course, this might mean that I also need to do a skill selection thing now as well, so while things improve, the todo list only gets larger, and it's easy to suffer from runaway feature syndrome.

If I find myself not even starting to address equipment by the end of this coming week, I'll probably do another minor revision release.
