Q20: Why do people use so many acronyms (especially in a forum where people who are unfamiliar with the game are asking questions)?

A20: Because it really does make typing posts easier, once you know them. I had a similar problem when I first joined the boards, but once I figured out what the acronyms stood for it made my posts type up a lot faster and with less aggravation. I mean, who really wants to type out Dungeon Master's Guide three times in the same post when you can just type DMG? Also, it helps keep you from getting ninja'd.

Q21) Another TWF question: PHB says a ranger chosing TW style can treat any single-handed weapon as an off-hand weapon. Does it mean that a M-size ranger weilding 2 bastard swords is legit?

Q22) Wizard's Spellbook: at 12th and 20th level, there is only one utility or daily power to chose from (they're paragon powers). His spellbook feature says he should add 2 spells (or 3 w/Expanded Spellbook feat) to it whenever he gains a daily or an utility. Can he chose another power of lower level in addition to his paragon power to add to the spellbook?

Yes, sir. Granted, they'll need the feat to gain prof bonuses, but it will work.

Sweet. That'll make for some kick-ass-looking rangers.

Well, It may look over the top, but as a bastard is only 1 pt of average damage over a longsword, why not?

A23: "Trip" is gone but there are a multitude of powers that knock enemies prone if they hit.

Q20bis: why do people use so many esoteric expressions like "ninja'd" (especially in a forum where people who are unfamiliar with the game are asking questions)? :P

Garic's City - A 3.5 D&D PbP (play-by-post) roleplaying game with a decade of tradition. Enter and enjoy the city of Garic and explore the surrounding, unchartered lands. A city in the middle of nowhere is always in need of heroes...

Other PbP forums: Castle of Fun - Coalition War Game - COre COlisseum - D20 Modern - Gleemax Roleplaying - Guild House - Magic Puzzles, Fun, & Games! - Map of the Planes - Paranoia Paradise - PbP Haven - Real Adventures - Terisia City

A: ninja'd is actually standard internet parlance, meaning someone beat you to the punch, so it isn't this forum, it's the internet you need to talk to on that one.

Edit: As to other phrases or abreviations, one should always asked when confused. When someone says, "What does OA or PH pr PHB or DMG mean, I'm new?" they should, in theory, be treated respectfully and answered. Otherwise, someone's breaking CoC.

Some new questions from a brand new player. As I'm filling out my character sheet I hit a couple of questions that I can't figure out.

Q24. What does the "W" stand for in "1[W] +Strength damage"?

Q25. How does one go about finding their "Attack Vs" in the Basic Attack section?
