She probably thinks "who the hell is this man to tell women how they can dress".

First, it seems that the ladies at Astrid's tend to disagree with the OP. Most of what I've read has been very supportive of the portrayal of women in 4e art.

Second, I think the true problem is not the way teh 8oo8ies are drawn, but that most of the art I have seen has been flat and uninspiring. The new stuff, for the most part, is awful. But that's just my opinion.

Third, I find it absolutely flabbergasting that this is even an argument. This is a game that has us running around killing people and taking their stuff. If you don't have a problem with blood, gore, theft and murder, I can't see how showing a little belly can even be an issue. Seriously, we understand it's a fantasy when we kill stuff in the game, right? Maybe the art is fantasy, too. Maybe.

If you're terribly afraid of your character dying, it may be best if you roleplayed something other than an adventurer.

You're new to the genre, aren't you?

Welcome to heroic fantasy, where your value to the story (and thus your lifespan) is more directly linked to how cool or iconic your equipment is then how it would work in real life because, again, this is not the real life, this is just fantasy. Caught in a landslide, this game's an escape from reality.

What armor you wear is based on how fun it is to draw, not the fact that you've exposed parts or that you are now covered with so many spikes and barbs that technically, you should be stabbing yourself when you walk. What weapon you use is based on how awesome you look posing with it? Sword and board? Get that crap out of here! Use this giant scythe instead. Or, if you insist on a boring sword, at least etch the crap out of it.

You... you didn't... No, you definitely did. Nobody else caught it?

Pretty much par for the course, here. When there is nothing to complain about people complain about nothing.

In truth women were never able to fight or wear mail and armor.

Care to justify this statement? I see nothing to indicate female armor should be any different than male armor aside from aesthetic reasons.

Yup. It seems like no one will be happy until everything in the world is completely sanitized for our "safety". I don't know about you, but I don't want my world to end up like the one in the movie Equilibrium ...

Because historically women were not allowed to fight in wars...and so thus they would have no need of armor and so they wouldn't wear them and...shall I carry the choo-choo train of thought on further for you?

Clearly, the woman depicted are sexy, but not just sex objects because they are all POWERFUL women -- warriors, wizards, etc.

If you want sex objects, look at any movie where a beautiful yet fully-clothed woman trips running from the bad guy and has to be rescued by the good guy.

Being an average guy is a stereotype?
