Not really.  This is a game designed around a square grid, measuring in those units makes it a lot simpler.
Harrying your Prey, the Easy Way: A Hunter's Handbook - the first of what will hopefully be many CharOp efforts on my part.
The Blinker - teleport everywhere. An Eladrin Knight/Eldritch Knight.

CB != rules source.

As an aside, why are you interested/worried about the conversion to feet?

In feet(s) makes clearer definition and description.

Yeah, no. At least, not if you're using a grid for your combat encounters. If you're using a grid, a square is a square is a square, and you can have a square be really as big as you want.

The actual distance is only really important if you're not using a grid.

You're actually better off only using squares because 4e doesn't use normal Euclidean geometry (unlike 3.5, and most of reality) in order to keep measuring distances simple during combat.
6 squares diagonally is still only 6 squares for all purposes in 4e, even if under normal geometry it is 1.414 times farther distance (~8.5 squares)  than 6 squares in a horizontal or vertical direction on the grid.

In other words, a square in 4e is 5 feet to a side and 5 feet diagonally.  If the distances ever seem long for melee combat its because each creature doesn't actually take up its entire space or stay in center of its space and fight from their - it assumes the creatures are moving within the limits of their space and reaching into adjacent spaces for combat.

This is also why explosions form perfect cubes.

Confused about Stealth?  Think "invisibility" means "take the mini off the board to make people guess?"  You need to check out The Rules Of Hidden Club.

Seed of Fire
Your attack leaves a glowing mote of arcane power in your enemy's wound. You kick you foe free of your blade and watch it erupt in a blossom of hellish flames.
Encounter        ArcaneFireWeapon
Standard Action      Melee weapon

Primary Target: One creature
Attack: Intelligence vs. AC
Hit: 1[W] + Intelligence modifier damage, and you push the target a number of squares equal to your Constitution modifier + 2. Make a secondary attack.

Secondary Target: Each creature within 2 squares of the primary target's new location
Secondary Attack: intelligence vs. Reflex
Hit: 2d6 + Intelligence modifier fire damage.

The question: is the primary target also subjected to the secondary attack? If it was a close burst 2 centered on him or "each creature within 2 of the primary target" then obvs not, but this is specifically the location...

Yup.  The primary target is a creature, and it is within 2 squares of the primary target's new location.  Even if it were "each creature within 2 squares of the primary target" it would still apply, as the primary target is still a creature within 2 squares of the primary target.

1a) Does SHIELD AC work any differently than normal AC? (IE: shield AC only gets factored in if the attacker is in front of you)

1b) Does SHIELD OF THE GODS (cleric power that gives +3 bonus to shield AC) require a shield to work?

2) Simbul's Conversion. Does this only work on daily abilities that contain the word ARCANE in the keyword list, or is it anything that can be considered a 'spell/power' of some kind?
