Can I choose to be hit on purpose?
No. Basically.
As a compromise, you might ask your DM to allow you to provide combat advantage to an attacker that you want to hit you.
We had a discussion in my group about a strategy similar to this a while back. As long as you're voluntarily allowing them to nail their strike, it would be plausible to take on the helpless condition for their attack. Houserule, yeah, but voluntarily granting CA would be too, and 25% increase in likelihood beats 10%.

Granting helpless would be a scary scary thing in some situations. Granting CA for the attack is pretty harmless though (what I do in those situations).

The memory of a thousand lifetimes racial power allows you to add a d6 to an attack roll. In PHB1 it says that a 1 is an automatic miss.
So we had a discussion if you could add memory of a thousand lifetimes to a natural 1. Some said it's not allowed because a 1 is always a miss, but since the power says that you add the d6 to the ROLL, not the result, I thought it was allowed...
Anyone who knows the official rules about this?

You would still miss. Here's the current rules for automatic misses which makes this clear:
Natural 1: When a creature makes an attack roll against a target and a 1 comes up on the d20 (this is called getting a natural 1), the power automatically misses the target. Bonuses and penalties don’t matter; the target is simply missed.
The 1d6 from Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes is just an additional +1d6 to whatever d20 roll you were making, so its still a Natural 1.
Edit: and for what it's worth the use of "roll" or "result" in the text doesn't matter. The result is that you have an automatic miss. You can add 1d6 to the roll, but because it was a natural 1, the result is still a miss.

Indeed. All bonuses are added to the roll, MoaTL is not unique in doing that.

Well, I could see an origin for the argument being that MoaTL doesn't actually use the word "bonus", it just says you "add 1d6 to the triggering roll". However, that doesn't override the natural 1 rule for automatic misses.
