I posted a quickly growing thread on a CS reply I received about secondary rolls not counting as "damage rolls" and thusly no bonus.

Check that out for more info.

Thanks, will do.

I'm currently toying weith a Two Weapon Opening Wild Magic build actually. Once I finish it I'll post it sans-DPR.

The build itself isn't HORRIBLY optimized, but that's because personal preference led me to go Death Dealer in a Rogue MC to gain some THP and debuffing.

If I went daggermaster... That would turn TwOpening into a bonus-attack godsend.

Of course I have the alternate builds as well that are going to be posted, but I'm no CharOP king.

I just read the thread and, as you said, it's a quickly growing one.

Which to me says the issue hasn't been solved. And to be honest, I wasn't convinced by the CS answer in the 1st place (at least when it pertains to sorcerers, that explicitly add Dex mods to the damage rolls of their arcane powers.) This is a unique feature that has to be treated separately from other classes. And, for Chaos Bolt specifically, secondary attacks do follow an attack roll (which is grounded by the same argument they gave you in answer 2:

"Example 2) Yes, because these are damage rolls resulting from attacks, you apply bonus damage to each of the attacks from a Twin Strike."

Secondary chaos bolt damage results from attacks. At the very least, dex mods apply, but as per their response, all mods should apply.

Add this obvious inconsistency and we should best wait for an errata:

Customer Service has a HORRIBLE track record so far. They give conflicting answers to the same question asked by two different individuals. CustServ rulings are not considered RAW unless they are posted in the FAQ.

To prove it, I asked whether I could add Draconic Power to the damage roll of the Dragonsoul Heir's utility power (which deals damage to creatures attacking the Dragonsoul Heir). I was told that yes, I do get to add Draconic Power to it, effectively adding my strength modifier twice (once from the power, and once from Draconic Power).

Khashi, agreed. In my guide I will note the discrepancy and note powers that are better if all mods are applied. And theres quite a few!

Note that Sorcs add their special damage to "damage rolls", so they would be in the same boat, if we define "damage rolls" to only happen on the initial power use.

A note: the Halfling feat you're unsure of is Lost in the Crowd.

Quick clarification on Dragonic Arrogance. In order to work that into your Cold Attack combo, you'd have to MC into a Martial Class as well correct? You couldn't use it and then not MC? Just wanted to verify this as I don't think I"m going to MC my first go.

I will look into Two Weapon Opening.

For the Wild-sorcs, they can just toss their dagger using their godlike DEX. Of course, most of the time this would not work out so well since at least 1 foe would be able to make an AoO against you. Though if your fighter has marked them, maybe that would work out ok...

I dont see it being worth TWO feats for the wild mage though. However, with daggermaster and jagged, thats a 15% chance PER TARGET of getting a free toss or jab.
So, perhaps the added chance of a crit for Wild Mages may justify taking Combat Training to ensure you can toss/poke as the situation requires.

How about a drow wild mage sorcerer with drow weapon training and two-fisted shooter with a dagger in main and hand cross bow in the off-hand? Every crit gives you a shot with the hand crossbow and it doesn't provoke.

Yeah, Ive got that somewhere. Either in my text-scratch version or posted elsewhere.

But that kicks the crap out of 2wpn opening for sure. With free-loading, you can really mow stuff down.

Or better yet, you get your AoE to hit multiple foes, and STILL get to focus fire.

There's a note about it in the Drow part, I just wanted to point out that with the Drow style from Dragon 371 (I think), you won't provoke opportunity attacks with the bonus hand-crossbow shots. It also syncs up nicely with going Daggermaster, since you'll have to multi-class rogue anyway. You crit and get the extra shot, use the lvl 12 Daggermaster power to take an extra stab and if you happen to have CA at the time, toss in your Sneak Attack on top of all of it.

The leather comment was for Scaphism, who agreed you'd want leather eventually but said the character builder let you gain the 2ac for leather, and it only gave a -2 reflex penalty, so you might hold off on the feat until later.

Ah, thanks. I didn't realize it gave a -2 to your attacks. That'd horrid. Forget I suggested it.
