I know there's at least one or two builds out there that don't mind getting hit (even a lot), but as far as I know there's not one specific one that wants to actually tank their defences...

Since i've got a new group, i'm now allowed to play hybrids as well. My old DM forbid that. Do you have any tipps for me for a very strong and melee Striker-ish Cleric hybrid?

Cleric|Ranger. Battle Cleric's Lore instead of Healer's Lore to get Scale proficiency and a shield bonus for free. Twin Strike. Done!

My problem with the Cleric|Ranger is, that it's got much worse offensive potential than the original Ranger, imho. So i would skip that build. Is there any Cleric Hybrid that doesn't lose too much of its original strength but gains a lot?

It really doesn't, actually. Clerics get off-turn Str based encounters (or at least 1 that is), and some great Utility/Daily powers. What you gain far outweighs what you lose - being able to focus on Str/Wis while having a stellar AC from level 1 makes the build far easier to manage in melee.

Thaneborn Barbarian|Cleric. Do everything you'd normally do as a Thaneborn Barbarian except have a base 19 AC at the cost of a feat. And the Thaneborn adds a nice touch of Leader to Cleric.

I was hoping to get a slightly more comprehensive answer this time (and I did fail to point out in my original question that strikebacks are too expensive for my charachter for quite a while).

Questions regarding Spiked Gautlets and Talids: For the home campaign I'm in my fighter (knight) needs to cover his hands (problems holding normal rope). Since I need him to get something to protect his hands I thought that he might just as well get some spiked gauntlets or talids since he can't afford any good enough hands slot magic items at the moment. Hence, no need for the otherwise reasonable argument that he would not benefit from using them etc. So, the questions: 1. Can I choose to use the gauntlets for an attack rather than the sword if I wear them while wielding a shield and a sword? 2. Can I enchant the spiked gauntlets with normal hands slot items (e.g. strikebacks)? Talids have an explicit line that they can be enchated as hands slot items or as magic weapons (where the weapon version does not use the hands slot item) while the gauntlets state that it occupies the hands slot item when enchanted. 3. Can non-enchanted spiked gauntlets be worn with magic hands slot items (e.g. Strikebacks+gauntlets at the same time)? 4. Are there any weapon enchantments I should look for if I go the Spiked Gauntlets route? Any weapons with a good property that could fit on weapons in the unarmed group and be better than e.g. strikebacks.
A last one not related to the mechanics: 5. Are there any significant flavor differences between talids and spiked gauntlets (such as one not covering the whole hand; I am not concerned about differences in material)? Much easier to customize the description if I know what I change (and some similarity with the original is good for my imagination)..
This opening portion is confusing. If you are wearing heavy armor as a Knight most types will come with protective hand covers such as gauntlets. 1)Not while you are wield a sword and shield. I believe at the least you would need to stow one in order to make an attack with the gauntlet. 2)No. I believe the Spiked Gauntlet can only be enchanted as a Weapon. 3)Yes. I believe, at least as far as the builder is concerned, that the Spiked gauntlet occupies the off hand slot so you can still have a shield and hand slot items. This i may be wrong on though. 4)Can't help with this one. 5)Just do a google image search
