Alright, first wave of construction building is done, but everything so far is a rough draft as far as I'm concerned.
Ability Scores, Races, and Skills are the "meat" sections I've gotten down so far. My current plan is to fill in some random areas Monday, do Heroic Powers on Tuesday, Gear on Wednesday, and see where I'm at after that.

You want to fix the Archetypes to say Int for Panther and not Dex. Very happy to see this guide though. Thanks!

i think you misread shared healing spirit feat.
it allows you to choose an ally for the extra d6's that is 2 squares away from the target OR an ally who is next to your companion. a little better than just 2 away from your companion.

Shaman is one class I am really interested in playing, so I am really looking forward to your Handbook.
One thing I would suggest when you start adding items though is Antipathy Gloves. With them equipped enemies won't be able to get close to you by shifting. And that means if they want to get close to you while your SC is well placed you should be able to get an OA.

Sadly the wording of the feat does not allow a bear shaman to add his constitution modifier to that healing, "as if" the ally was adjacent to the spirit companion.
On the other hand, Mighty Spirit (epic) does (any benefits that apply while adjacent also apply within 2 squares).
Note also that the Spirit Tempest paragon path has a great feature for bear shamans: Healing guides. The feature specifically notes that when you use healing spirits, any ally next to/within your conjurations/zones also regains hit points as if they were next to your companion.
I take this to mean that if you heal one ally with healing spirit, all other allies within your zones/conjurations get to regain Con modifier +2d6-6d6 (depending on level) HP. Since the shaman will always have at least one zone up during a major battle (spirits of battle-burst 5!) this makes for some pretty nice healing.

I also like the utility power you get to teleport swap your companion with an ally. at the start of an encounter, you can conjure your companion next to enemy controllers/artillery as a free action if you have nimble spirit, make an attack on it, then teleswap to place your striker/defender right next to it and still have a move action.
and it does suck that the wording of the protector shaman boon doesn't allow you to add your con mod when you use the shared healing spirits. but it still gives you a lot more flexibility with the healing spirits so you don't waste half of it.

Spirit tempest is awesome imo; best paragon path for protector spirit shamans hands down due to healing guides. I think flame of hope is the best choice for stalker spirit shamans, although both great bear shaman and spirit tempest seem decent also. I just think the nova strike ability of the flame of hope (as well as picking up some nice healing powers from the level 20 and 25 dailies) make it a better choice overall.

Thx for making the guide. Looks to be an interesting tactical class.
Any definitive word on the totem in regards to using it one handed, off handed, or no handed (a la Holy Symbol)? It seems odd that WoTC would give us a polearm proficiency and one handed implement reliance.
With the new Melee Training feat the class is begging to use Polearm Gamble at paragon. Not that the Longspear would be a primary method of attack, but it could prove usefull if a nearby ally granted a melee basic attack. Using a reach weapon from behind your Spirit Companion seems like it would also come in handy as an option from time to time. Your Shaman powers would see more use but when you are out of encounter powers, or the target is prone, or when + to melee attacks are floating around it would be nice to be able to use a real weapon.
I would not be shocked to see a Totemic Longspear show up in AV2. Many other classes have implements that can be used as weapons.

One thing I've noticed is that compared to the warlord and the cleric, the shaman is really not good at offering free saves. There are only 2-3 powers that offer saving throw bonuses and only one utility power (sudden restoration) that grants immediate saving throws. Until Primal Power comes out this could be a problem for solo-leader shamans at paragon and epic tiers.
Something else I've noticed is that at most levels the evocations with riders either 1. aren't the best, or 2. the riders themselves add little to what is an awesome power regardless.
That makes me favor the bear shaman...get the bonus healing and ignore the crummy bear shaman powers that target fortitude (the bear shaman powers start to improve noticeably after level 15). Instead take the non-rider evocations or occasionally the panther shaman evocations (the riders rarely add that much though there are notable exceptions). Meanwhile the panther shaman is going to end up having to waste utility evocation slots on daily one shot healing powers to keep the party alive.
