DwarvenSparten, I think what's going on here is that you're trying to put out content now, just to have the guide all put together, with the intent of going back later and refining the details. I could see how that would make structure easier. But I think you'll find that you're wasting time coming up with filler content to be replaced later, and it's not particularly helpful as-is.

I think this will be a great guide when you get finished with it, but more than making sure everything's there in some form, I'd like to see some actual optimization advice, comparing the available options in a meaningful way. As it is, your guide is informative, but doesn't help make mechanical decisions to any great degree.

Fixed. And seconded. It's not really helpful if you're just like "everything's good have fun!" You gotta help players see the hierarchy of choices so that they can make better characters.

I am probably the worst person to question about this... so i may be wrong... but i think it is "qualitative".

The "quantum" seems to me that the OP should analyze more powers.
While "quality" seems to me that the OP should analyze more those(same) powers, contrast them better.

[[[!!!EDIT!!! Re-reading your post... if the "quantum" is related to the word "judgement" that can mean... "more judgement"?... is that what you mean? I interpret exactly the oposite(the "qualitative" as quality/qualify/grade/rank/contrast).
English blow my mind >.<
Anyway... i am sorry if i am wrong.]]]]

But anyway, i also seconded that.
@DwarvenSparten: It is hard to see your opinion when you don´t contrast those "colors"/options. Even when you think that all the powers on the level are great(or terrible)... make a comment about the situations, conditions where there is a better, or that "it is a hard choice but this one can be often better"...

As Ytterbium_Dragon and The Crimson Dawn said above... people will read your guide looking for awnsers/solutions.

Fun Guide.

I agree with several others that believe the guide would be better if the OP would be a little more critical with his ratings.

Black = solid power

Blue = great power, one of the best choices you can make at this level

sky-blue = exceptional power, a choice that would compare well to the most powerful abilities of other classes at this level.

Good to see a second swordmage guide

A few highlights from arcane power

I really like level 13 binding light. You get to hit your main target and then auto immobilize every other adjacent enemy without needing to hit them. A shift back should often mean that you will only be fighting one opponent next round. This is much better than immobilizing the target you are currently trying to kill

Borrowed confidence allows you to roll twice for two full rounds per encounter - excellent stuff

best ED for me is magister since you hit AC a lot and often a second defence too. Casting rituals in combat must have some uses. Imprisioning sleeping opponents etc

Hypnotic Swordplay should definitely be higher up. It's an encounter stun that targets will. It'll hit almost all of the time and take the most nasty monster out of the fight for a round, allowing your allies to unload on him and disable a major threat every encounter. Stun is the best status effect next to domination, and I don't see how that can be ignored, especially when people are calling for an immobilization (pretty meh) power to be ranked higher.

You say Swordmage's Decree is one of "one of the best powers available to any class" but then you rate three other choices at that level higher than it.

This guide needs a whole lot of work. You should have at least read through it a couple of times before posting.

Good luck though, can't get enough guides.

I have a question about the sword bond. Well, actually, first I have a question about weapons in general.

Are there any methods by which a weapon can be destroyed? Does the rust monster destroy metal weapons still?

If so, then wouldn't the swordbond feature be, at least, black, since it means that if your weapon is destroyed, you won't have to spend the money to get it back? This is especially nice if your weapon is something really expensive and you are on a tight budget... so, you found a +2 weapon at level 3 and it got broken. Which would be better: spending an hour to reform said +2 weapon or going through many, many adventures to get enough money to buy another one (or hope to find another one)?

If a Rust Monster eats your weapon the residium you get out of it is equal to the value of the weapon in full. So you can just buy it back at the end of the adventure. Otherwise no,there is no real thing on damaging weapons for the most part as far as I know. Aside from that the Swordbong just lets you get back your cool +2 weapon alot sooner.

Swordbong? What kind of hippie Swordmage do *you* play?

Seriously, so if the rust monster gives you an residium equal to the value of the weapon, in full, then when you sell that residium to the store, you are getting only 20% of the full value of the +2 weapon you lost. Stores won't exchange residium for magic weapons or items, last time I checked. Unless you are or someone in your party is the same level as your magic weapon was and you can afford a scroll of Enchant Magic Item, then you are going to be missing that +2 weapon for a little bit.

Or are there special 'player friendly' rules for exchanging residium for magic items? Because that would completely *break* LFR. Just let me get into a mod with a rust monster and let it eat my (level 7) +2 weapon and then, at the end of the adventure, I can get a +2 vicious weapon in it's place! Or any level 7 magic item, for that matter!

I'm not 100% on this but I think there was a write up somewhere that stated that basically you can only use the money to replace the item with the exact same thing. The residium that is in a rust monsters stomach does not have the 20% trade in going for it. It's one of those special things that override the rules a bit. Basically it eats your weapon, you get teh magic dust and can get your item back. No more or less.
