(Forked from the Best Handbook thread.)
The Character Optimization wiki is up! charop.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page
If you drop by the main page, you'll notice that it's very incomplete. This is because I can only do so much by myself and my skill at wikicode is limited. If you're good at wikicode, or just want to help, drop me a PM on these forums and I'll let you know what we need done.
Cheers! Character Optimization Wiki: it's here, and it's the perfect tool for what we do here. At the moment, there's nothing there, but we (all of us) will hopefully soon have changed that.
At the moment, we aren't short of material to add to the wiki; there's a done from these boards which can be copied directly over.
Suggestions? Comments? We need experience Wiki editors and ChOppers to help us begin to fill up the information-reservoirs. If you're not sure what to add to the wiki, most of the information in Necrosnoop's 4E Optimization Library is suitable, though if you're going to copy someone else's work, be sure to PM them to let them know, and to cite your sources in the Wiki.

The biggest problem with the wiki at the moment is (as the quote says), that' we're shorthanded. I have worked out how I want the wiki to look, but I need some help in getting it to actually look that way (wikicode can actually be very complicated).
For some expansion on what the wiki is going to be about, we'll host (with permission) the guides you can find here, and have it designed so anyone can edit it. For the sake of having everything in one place, we'll also host optimized builds.
If this sounds good to you, the wiki should be mostly/fully functional within a week or two (less if more people help out).

Go ahead and host Swords and Sorcery on the Wiki, if such is your desire.

I'd like to revise my earlier time prediction. There is almost no hope of me getting this up alone. If someone can just help me set up the Portal pages and the Main Page, we can get this to the point where everything is working.
The main job of anyone volunteering to help set the wiki up will be putting up boxes on the Main and Portal pages, so if you can do that, you can help.

The more help we can find for Ekko, the better!
Also: spread the word about this Wiki. Put it in your sigs, link it in your blogs, and point it out to all the optimizers you know. The more people know about this project, the more people will be available to volunteer!
Ekko: I'm pretty busy most of the time, and my internet-fu is very basic, but I'm willing to make small contributions on a regular basis. What specifically would you like me to (learn to) do? Feel free to PM me. (I did suggest this idea, so I feel obligated. Plus, it's an awesome project, which I hope will work out!)

awesome idea, but it definitely needs some work because it basically has nothing of value there just yet.
I don't think it would be too hard to get permission from the people who wrote all the handbooks to copy their work(or let them do it themselves) onto the wiki and possibly break down their info into a bit better organized formats like sections by best race choice, best feats/tier , best paragon/epic paths based on ability scores/path choices, etc.
The biggest problem with the optimization library is that there are usually 3-4 different handbooks that all basically have the same info and recommendations and we simply need to combine them so readers can get to the info they are looking for without having to go through 3+ different multipage articles written in completely different formats (some use the different colors to indicate value of feats/skills/etc and some just use them to make their article look pretty, heh).
Keep up the good work, it might just be the time to learn how to add wiki entries after avoiding it for so long.

Yup, that's the point of the wiki, to help consolidate all the guides and get them into one nice, convenient place. The guides will be split up into a handful of sections (Races, Paragon Paths, Feats, Powers, Multiclassing, etc.) for better navigation.
For those willing to help, If you can set up boxes (like the ones on the Main Page), that's what we need the most. I'll send you a PM if you let me know you can help.

If I get some free time soon, I might go through and do a bunch of real basic stuff on it. Sounds like a worth while project.
Solutions to common DND problems. 1- "My DM sucks, here are some reasons why ____. How can I fix this?" Solution- "Hey DM I dislike ____ about your game. Can you change it?" If yes great, if no either shut up and deal or leave. 2- "My players all suck, here are some reasons why ___. How can I fix this?" Solution- "Hey players. I dislike ___ about your playstyle. Can you make an effort to change this? If yes great. If no, either shut up and deal or leave. 3- 1- "This other player sucks, here are some reasons why ____. How can I fix this?" Solution- "Hey Other player I dislike ____ about your play style. Can you change it?" If yes great, if no either shut up and deal or leave.

Am I the only one bothered by this request to steal a bunch of other people's content and put it on a site with ads?
