Why would dragons, who see themselves as a superior race, include anything but draconian dna in their creation? I imagine since the game is D&D and not D&D future or Modern the dragons do not even know what DNA is. Completely anachronistic for a D&D setting.
With that said, I find it hillarious I have not been posting for like three weeks and this thread is STILL up with the last post not including mine, being TODAY.
This sort of thing will always appeal to the gamer brain ...

Ok fine then... why would dragons include anything but undiluted draconic power and essence in the dragonborn? Why would they corrupt their blood with human blood?

I don't particularly like dragonborn anyway.

It could be that dragons want the human drive to reproduce, the human drive would allow their creation to grow in population much quicker than dragons normally would.

They weren't created by Dragons, though, they were birthed from the spilled blood of Io, a god who had both a hominid and draconic form.
So it makes sense that they would retain features of both dragons and hominids, even if the blend makes little sense in real earth biological terms.
Its fine if you don't like them, aesthetically, I can respect that, but to argue that they are illogical is silly.

I seethe place they can have in any campaign but my own. I will be running a generic campaign for the game store, and there I will allow dragonborn since it is a game to sell D&D books.
I still think I will leave them out of my own game though.
