In the future, I'd prefer they already make the changes, get them approved and have them in hand before announcing them as "upcoming".
Then they can give a date, and even stick to it, and look somewhat impressive when they meet it. Hell, feel free to do this and then wait a week before releasing them so it even seems like you weren't done to begin with.
Really, you could use the false bravado.

In the absence of evidence, WotC is planning to eat babies, etc. Copycat.

Well, I have decided to decide that the GSL revisions are dead. WoTC appearently does not want to have 3rd party support for it's products, which isn't a bad thing. I mean, this gives people the chance to create whole new rules sets that may eventually become the new awesome games of the future.

So, since the "great alignment change" we have heard SQUAT about the new GSL revisions right? Is it still in the works or has it been quietly shelved? It has not been shelved. It's sitting right here on my desk next to the bazillion other things I've got going on right now. I haven't been on the boards in a while (weeks?) so I have not been aware of what was going on.
The draft is done. The changes are approved and it just needs to get pushed to a final document. But there is still work to do. Since Lidda is gone I am taking on myself (as well as a bunch of other licensing duties) plus my day to day so as you can imagine I am slammed.
So what's left?
As an outcome of one of the changes we made we need to create a "statement of rejection" form that will be an official opt out of the license upon a revision. It will look a lot like the SOA.
We also need clear up some things on the SRD and in the FAQ. Lidda left me a draft of the FAQ but I have not looked at it yet and I have not met with R&D to discuss the changes/clarifications to the SRD.
Realistically, looking at my work load this is still weeks off being done.

So, no one is helping you post-Lidda?

Scott, thanks as always for braving the asylum doors and stopping by and giving us a word.
We do appreciate that you took time to drop us a line. We won't claim to wait patiently, but we will continue to wait in better spirits now. :D

But, Scott, thank you personally for the update. And I am sorry that you work for a company that makes stupid decisions (at least as seen from the customer standpoint) - especially in this latest layoff. I just hope they don't go with the traditional Christmas follow-up layoff like they have a couple times in the past. As someone who was laid off from that web design shop on a Dec. 23rd, I can attest that it ain't fun.

So, no one is helping you post-Lidda? Yes I will have help but the transition on these types of things is never smooth so one just needs to cowboy up and plow ahead.
