campaign ideas are already starting to form in my mind, just the potential for Dark Sun in 4e is thrilling.
Does anyone know which day they're going to announce the new campaign setting at Gen Con?

I gotta say, at first, before I did real reading into 4e, I was aghast at the idea of older settings being converted to 4e. I'm still in a unknown phase as to DS and DL and how it will be handled. But 4e Eberron really gives me hope. The setting retained a lot of its unique concepts and turned "Core 4e" into minor aspects of the setting. Like gods-like but not actually gods. (Lolth is a fiend overlord instead of a god) So I'm looking forward to seeing the twists 4e ds takes. Even if its a new spin on the old setting, I'm a bit more willing now. I mean after all, I still have 2e to play with.
Long Live Dragonlance and the Nexus! I still want an athasian nightmare beast and a warforged dragon mini! although I do wish they would show the next few settings release dates, then we could be ready before it comes out... that way all the Mystara people wont be so disappointed when it doesn't come out...
me, I just want them to minimize the amounts of books they are putting out... I mean, couldn't they just have waited a little longer to release 4e... then they could have put both PHB into 1 book!! or all 3 MM into 1... now DMG, those they could do up to like 10 and I would be fine with... too bad they couldnt do them like the Starwars revised book... players guide, DM's guide, and monsters manual all in 1 book!!
well enough ranting, !!! Come on Dark Sun

Well it looks like more and more that its more likely dark sun, which I hope it is. as much as I like dragon lance there would be too many problems with converting it. Though I will say this I'd laugh it was stardrive....and be completely ok with it. I mean if I didn't get my dark Sun at least we'd get a science fantasy setting

Hopefully WotC will update the Ampersand article pretty quickly after the news breaks, since a lot of us won't be there.

GenCon Here We Come!
We’ll be flying out to Gen Con in a couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to meet up with all of you while we’re there. We’ve got a full slate of seminars on tap, as well as demos, RPGA events, and other surprises and activities throughout the Best Four Days in Gaming. During the show, I’m going to be revealing a number of secrets, which will then appear here as news items for any D&D Insiders that aren’t at the show. For example, I’m going to reveal that our next campaign setting, following on the heels of Forgotten Realms and Eberron, is going to be (blank) . Then, I might just talk about a special D&D (blank) that Mike Mearls and I are designing for release next year. Should I also talk about (blank), (blank), and (blank) of (blank)? I guess it depends on what kind of mood I’m in during the seminars. We’ll see … man... thats a lot of blanks...
