I know that WotC wants a 'brand name' that is easily remembered. Everytime I hear Gleemax, I think of Kleenex. I think that they're trying to capture that exact thing.
Kleenex are 'Kleenex brand tissues' made by Kimberly-Clark. But if you ask someone for a kleenex, they know you mean tissue - thus, they're synonymous. If that is the kind of brand recognition they want, well, I guess I understand that, but it sounds to me like trying too hard. That kind of brand recognition leads to you losing the rights to your own brand name.

"The one thing you do grant to us by posting your content onto our site is the right to use it as we please. So, if you post (for example) an awesome Magic card or a D&D feat that we think is cool, we're allowed to put it into one of our books, card sets, etc." ...and there it is.
You basically want to harvest free material for your games from other people's creativity and hard work.
The community itself doesn't need these "features". Anyone who was serious about a blog already has one, and I doubt they'll abandon it to start one up here, where someone else can profit from it.
I won't risk a warning by telling you where you can shove "gleemax", but I can tell you I won't be using any of these "features". I'll continue to use the forums that I do now, but I'm not using anything else. If I want a blog (which I don't), I'll go off-site.

Not really. That's more of a protection for WotC from people saying "Hey, I posted that and now it's in the book!" Plus, by having it posted on their servers, it might be considered "publishing". You're granting them a right to show your blog. I think.

These very boards also fall under the User-Generated Content Policy the Wizo quoted. In fact, they're already part of Gleemax. Don't believe me? Check out your address bar.

Of the two approaches to hobby games today, one is best defined as the realism-simulation school and the other as the game school. AD&D is assuredly an adherent of the latter school. It does not stress any realism (in the author's opinon an absurd effort at best considering the topic!).
It does little to attempt to simulate anything either. (AD&D) is first and foremost a game for the fun and enjoyment of those who seek the use of imagination and creativity....
In all cases, however, the reader should understand that AD&D is designed to be an amusing and diverting pastime, something which an fill a few hours or consume endless days, as the participants desire, but in no case something to be taken too seriously.
For fun, excitement and captivating fantasy, AD&D is unsurpassed. As a realistic simulation of things from the realm of make-believe or even as a reflection of midieval or ancient warfare or culture or society, it can be deemed only a dismal failure. Readers who seek the later must search elsewhere. - Gary Gygax. 1e DMG.

Or post 3.5e content - after the shift to 4e, actual 3e crunch won't be of much value to WoTC.

Simple fix. Copyright anything 1st. Don't post under a known ID. You claim s/o stole and posted. Done. You automatically have a copyright of anything you create the moment it exists. You don't have to register it - though doing so allows you to collect damages in a lawsuit, and also makes it a little bit easier to defend.
As for your scheme -- there's a better way. Post it off site and then post a link. That seems to circumvent granting WotC rights to your materials.

*Comes in, reads posts and T&C*
This is standard policy for many companies, I don't see why Wizards is being demonised over it.
