Of the two approaches to hobby games today, one is best defined as the realism-simulation school and the other as the game school. AD&D is assuredly an adherent of the latter school. It does not stress any realism (in the author's opinon an absurd effort at best considering the topic!).
It does little to attempt to simulate anything either. (AD&D) is first and foremost a game for the fun and enjoyment of those who seek the use of imagination and creativity....
In all cases, however, the reader should understand that AD&D is designed to be an amusing and diverting pastime, something which an fill a few hours or consume endless days, as the participants desire, but in no case something to be taken too seriously.
For fun, excitement and captivating fantasy, AD&D is unsurpassed. As a realistic simulation of things from the realm of make-believe or even as a reflection of midieval or ancient warfare or culture or society, it can be deemed only a dismal failure. Readers who seek the later must search elsewhere. - Gary Gygax. 1e DMG.

Can we get this thread removed from the OTT? community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...It's advertising for someone's personal KickStarter project. I've reported it several times, but apperantly there seems to be a problem with my reprting. It doesn't generate any report. I know I've tried reporting it at least 3 times since it was created. And can someome from CS look into why my reports are going through?

Please undo this move, or move the thread to off-topic or somewhere. This thread causes all kinds of problems in CO due to conflicts between its creator and other regular posters in the forum. It will result in a lot of trolling, ad hominem attacks and other undesirable behaviour.

Umm ... yeah. We Tavern regulars would appreciate it if ya'all in CO kept your flamewars to yourselves.
Something ya'all gotta remember is that the Tavern is not a dumping ground for all threads you personally don't want. If CO is the appropriate place, it's the appropriate place whether you like the OP or not. You don't get to request that your problem posters' threads get dumped there. Additionally this is about D&D, right? D&D is a topic that's officially off-topic in the Tavern. As such the Tavern is the least appropriate place for this thread. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

I woud recommend closing it if it causes such issues. Based on the subject matter, 4e Char Op is the appropriate forum.

Not intentionally, no. It's, well, it's some weird mish-mosh of his opinion and his interpretation of other people's posts. And people post their opinions of what are great powers on the CharOp board all the time. It's absolutely the right place for it. If it's disruptive, it should be locked. But that would be up to the VCLs and/or ORCs.
We don't shunt threads to other forums just because we don't like the creator of the thread or his behavior. It was equally disruptive in the 4e General Discussion forum. Poke crazy_monkey and webster and report any violative behavior.

Howdy folks, Just to reiterate what Wrecan has been saying, just because you have a problem with a poster or don't like the content of a thread, that isn't sufficient reason to move it if its on topic in the forum it was posted in. If there are Code of Conduct issues with the thread, use the report post button.
