As long as they fire Wayne England, we're clear.
I started playing on Third Edition, but I always loved the ''older art'' used in the earlier books.

... but I suppose WotC probably can't afford people like Elmore (plus, they want to be less sexist, so the scantily-clad women of the olden days are out). I fixed it for you.
I like the art. It's not the best, but it's very vibrant. It makes the game feel exciting. That's all I really want out of the art.
Bad art can ruin things. There are bunches of prestige classes which I've skipped over with a short laugh simply because the illustration for it was so bad (e.g., Knight Of The Chalice from Complete Warrior). None of the 4e art I've seen so far has been that bad.

Yes, I highly doubt that wizards couldnt afford Elmore... I managed to commission him to do the cover art for my first product, and Im hardly made of money.
Its more likely that he either a) didnt have the time, b) didnt want to commit himself to such a large project or c) was passed up for some other reason, possibly due to sexist reasons, but I doubt it.

Was there more then one Paragon path for each class? If there isnt, it would be pretty annoying, since it would just be like getting new abilities in the same class but renaming the class.

That is being used in the new Champions game, the Massive Mutli player online game. They bought the system, lock, stock and barrel. Oh for the love of... thanks for the warning. Now I know to avoid it.

A post from a WotC employee on ENWorld confirmed that there are over 30 Paragon Paths in the PHB. Plus, supposedly only one is of the "same class, but more so" variety while the others are arcane archer/mystic theurge/etc.-type "multiclass Paths" or generic appeals-to-several-classes Paths.

Based on the fact that the Genasi has its own racial paragon path (Wildfire Genasi), as highlighted in one of the dev's personal blogs, I assume that each race will have one or two paragon paths each.
Going by the assumption that each race has at least one PP, and each class is granted 3 PPs, gives us a total of 30 PPs. Seems pretty spot-on to me.
That, and the photo showcasing the Ranger that has been floating around the forums also showcases two different paragon paths for the paladin class -
The Hospitalar (a previously unseen but expected PP), and the Justicar (previewed in the PP excerpt). This gives us a confirmed 2 paragon paths for a single class - Photo's of the actual product don't lie.
Going by the above assumptions, I expect the third paladin path to be the Cavalier. The good thing about that photo however, is that it clearly shows us all 3 powers of the Justicar path, one power for the Hospitalar, and the format used for Class lay-out, as highlighted by the Ranger entry on the opposite page.

Oh for the love of... thanks for the warning. Now I know to avoid it. Off-topic: this is completely false. Cryptic purchased the Champions and Dark Champions settings, not the rights to the HERO system. Champions Online will use the Champions setting and character creation inspired by the HERO system, but it will not use the HERO system.
