The 30 level classes is different, wonder if they are stretching the classes across more levels or adding more on?

Is anyone else unable to start a new topic? I was going to create one for all the confirmed info on 4th, but I appear to not have permission.

This.

Yes, you will have to melt down the minis you have when 4th is released. The mini-police will be after you if you don't

You obvious don't play sanctioned tournaments or you would come off more intelligently.

They are re-issuing cards for the past two sets ONLY. Everything before that is garbage for skirmishers like me.

And for the RPGers, the back side of the cards will also be outdated, assuming all the creatures make the transition.

Keep standing in line to suckle at the mighty corporate teat. I'm out.

I hate to say it, but this is one of things that probably needs to be the way it is because D&D has always been that way. There's be no psi / arcane / divine split in Dave's Fantasy RPG. Core Dungeons and Dragons will, I suspect, rarely have core psi (and almost always have optional psi) and always have an arcane / divine split in magic.

Although it sounds like 4e wizards will be a lot like 3.5e psions. Many of the things people like about psionics may become core, leaving 4e psionics a great big question mark.

Sounds like somebody should be playing 1st edition. Please, go play 1st edition if that's what you want. Let 4E be something new.

I've run a few games for tables of new players and character creation in 3.0-3.5 was a frustrating and time-consuming affair mainly due to Skills and Feats. A fast character generation -- other than grabbing the one example character -- would be a godsend for newbies and pick-up games.

So, is this going to be a completely new system, or a balancing edition? To clarify what I mean, is this going to be like converting 1e to 3e, or like converting 3.5 to d20 Modern.

Sorry If I'm not making any sense, I'm tired today, but I hope you get the jist, complete conversion, or simple conversion?

Sorry again if I'm not making sense.

Peace,
Pyre

And what precludes WotC from making a PDF fit to Letter or A4?

Did they for SAGA? As far as I can tell, they did not.

Also, while square books may be nice and shiney to look at, they are imho unwieldy to handle and impractical to transport (especially in a backpack).

I really would not prefer my books getting folded over in my bag or something because they were not the same height as my magazines or something.

Does nobody have any comments on this?

I really like that idea. While I am personally not negative towards different mechanics (and I really like the warlock and incarnum), I fail to see a reason why basically "the same thing in green" (psionics) would justify a wholely different system.

Well, some sacred cows are best made into holy hamburgers, or so some wise man once said. :D :P
