I am really excited about the prospect of playtesting. Is there a link to information regarding to what you need to be eligible? I'm posing here (and therefore have a D&DI account), and I have a group to play with, but IDK what else to check on to make sure I am fully qualified.

Watch dndinsider.com. They will be posting a link with instructions when it's ready. That's all we know. Also, the podcast released a couple of days ago said it is probably two weeks out.

Have group that has met for 10+years, every weekend, and has trained numerous young ones (two of our last young'ens are now in the military), and have some new young fellas (13+) joining us. We are at your service, Oh Great Gods of the D20s!!!

This is not an "official" sign up for playtesting & I will not beg or bribe but for the record I am interested in running a playtest group. I have DMed & played all three editions of D&D (since 1985) & have a solid group of veteran gamers that know game mechanics well & can offer meaningful feedback. Strict DNA protocols would be enforced. I hope that WotC will keep miniatures a big part of the game & even consider updated stat cards online for their various miniatures line. The guys & one gal in the game I run have literally thousands of minis that we use (heck, I probably have almost a thousand of my own). Just taking the time to post on here says a lot about how much everyone loves the game & wants to be involved.

Well just because everyone else seems to be doing it, I might as well too. I've got a group of six including myself who are ready, willing, and eager to playtest 4E. In fact I think at least half of us were on the playtest list for 3E now that I think about it.

C'mon man, we're legacy. :D

I thought you folks were on double secret probation?

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I want to express my opinion on the subject a bit more.

I would appreciate it if Wizards posted the requirements for Playtesting somewhere before the playtest signup starts. IE, I would like to know if I have to be age of majority, if I have to sign an NDA, if my group has to be age of majority and sign an NDA, if my group has to sign up for playtest separate from myself, and therefor all need D&DI accounts, and how I 'prove' I have a playgroup, and all that other stuff. All of this would be most helpful.

To sign an NDA (a legally binding document, which you will absolutely have to sign before you are allowed to even get near the playtest packet) you have to be of legal age, i.e. 18.

I have playtested for M&M and there is no way any company would ever let their NDA slide, especially something like 4th Edition. Not gonna happen.

I turn 18 this week, so an NDA for myself dosn't bother me too much, its the rest of the group... *tracks down older D&D friends*

Seriously guys, there's no need to post your info here. That's what the applications are for.

That said, it's Monday and WOTC has got to get this thing going. Maybe we'll hear something today.

I know I'm crossing my fingers. You know what might be interesting, but not a suggestion to subvert NDA, if after the playtest is completed that there might be a blog writeup of how the playtest went with people outside of WOTC.

It might be a great insite to new 4e players to see how to get into the game and understand the rules. Often it's nice to have a player who knows both systems explain how the change goes and give insight.

This would mean that the playtesters would need to keep detailed notes, which they have to do anyways. But they should play close attention to how the players perceive the rules too.
