The brave young lieutenant Wilmar of Dauth has been raised. He fell in the battle by the Cathedral, where he was part of the heroes that led the defense of Brindol. Thanks to his and many others' sacrifice, Brindol is still a free city. The war has cost Elsir Vale plenty. The farms where destroyed, fields and orchards burnt, and live stock slaughtered for the invading army to feed on. Life is slowly restoring itself, but mainly in the big cities such as Brindol and Dennovar, and along the main trade route to Drellin's Ferry. The distant lands of the country are still in need. Elsir Vale has only a small army and militia and they are concentrated to the main cities and towns. Scouts do patrol the outer frontiers and report back if there are any troubles. One day Wilmar of Dauth got a warning from a patrolling sentry about a village, "Ossington", that hadn't been heard from for over 3 months. "It is very unusual" said the sentry "because once a month the farmers in Ossington usually participate in the regions trade fair and sell their produce. But not for 3 months now." Realizing the importance of the sentry's report, Wilmar mounted his horse and rode to his friends that had fought in the war gainst the Red Hand of Doom. Wulfgar was as usual training his combat techniques. Eluard was alone with his God, praying. Ilzzt sat still in the shadows, keeping his swords well-oiled. And Halandar was no where to be seen... Oh, well there he was. High up in a tree with a little platform built for scouting. " Dear Wilmar, it is great to see you again." Said Eluard and took care of his horse. " Yet I see that worries are on your mind." Wilmar nodded. " Yes, a village in the outskirts of the country has not been heard from for over 3 months." Eluard agreed this was worrysome. " I see. But the scattering Red Hand of Doom forces have been destroyed or have run up into the mountains and dispersed. We have tracked them for long, and none remain in organized units. So it can't be them anyway." " That is true" said Wilmar. " Still we need to find out why this village seem to be in trouble. Would you please on my request travel to Ossington and find out what is going on there? As an officer of the elite forces I give you full authority to act in the name of Elsir Vale and our leader Lord Jaarmath. Who also btw sends his regards." Eluard looked at his friends. They had all gathered around Wilmar. " We will always respond to Elsir Vale's and Lord Jaarmath's requests. Tell the Lord that whatever or whoever has interferred with the village of Ossington will be dealt with. We will save no effort in this." Wilmar believed the cleric and was happy to have these adventurers on his side, as he saw Wulfgar grip his powerful Dwarven Waraxe, and Ilzzt handling his razorsharp swords with incredible dexterity... Whoever has interferred with the village of Ossington will probably regret it thought Wilmar as he stepped into the farm that the friends had been given as a gift for their aid in the war. Herbal tea could do wonders after a long ride. You can follow the adventurers in my new thread " The Standing Stone - Total Recap!" out soon.

The main gang continued into " City of the Spiderqueen" as their good friend Randal Morn called for their help. Please read the recap "City of the Spiderqueen - Total Recap!" for more info! "The Standing Stone" is a sidequest that we play with some of the other heroes: Ilzzt the Drow, Wulfgar the Dwarven Fighter, Eluard the Cleric, and Halandar the Halfling Rogue. A lot of the main characters from RHoD are still down there in Elsir Vale helping out to rebuild the valley. Rendawyth the paladin makes a lot of effort cleansing the lands from remnants of RHoD army units, that have now turned into small guerilla units stalking the countryside. Rendawyth is also rebuilding Vraath Keep and will have it as his own base of operations. The surrounding lands are fertile and farmers will grow crops there. The forests are thick and dense, and the timber that woodmen cut down will be much needed in the valley as farms, bridges, and houses need to be rebuild.

Wulfgar, Ilzzt, Halandar and Eluard all joined up ready to tackle the latest challenge in The Standing Stone. I hope it wont be long before these great adventurers get to get some piece of the action again. Foremost Ilzzt, and Halandar. These are my two of my absolute favourites. Wulfgar and Eluard being very dare ones as well, they will not go unnoticed for sure!
Rendawyth is making big plans of Vraath Keep. Soon I will present to you the new schematics but not before its all done. It will be grand, I promise.
I also promise that Rendawyth will return to the action soon. Very soon. You can take that to the bank!

Hello Caligula (and others involved), I greatly appreciate you sharing your experiences with the RHoD adventure. I have just started DMing the campaign myself, and your recap has proved to be a remarkably helpful resource - all 48 pages! I have already implemented several of your ideas that were not in the adventure book. To the players, your input has been an invaluable resource as well, as I suspect that my players will go through the same struggles and victories that you encountered along the way. Caligula, do you have any handouts/maps/side-quests/NPCs/etc. that you could share with me? Also, if you have written anything (ie speeches, NPC interactions, narratives) for the RHoD campaign, I would love to take a look at those as well. Thanks again for all your hard work! -Sprinkles

Thanks for the kind words guys, but unfortunately I dont have the material left. In this thread you will find most of the ideas described in detail. Perhaps you can find some inspiration there hopefully.
Or perhaps some of the people that I have emailed my stuff to over the months will be kind enough to share them with you.
Again thanks for the kind words and I hope your players will fight bravely against the hordes to save the people of Elsir Vale.

Anyone looking for C's handout's , or any other maps, please send me an EMAIL. I'm not very active oon these boards anymore, so you'll need to email me with your requests. There's quite alibrary of handouts, encrypted, translated into goblinese, etc. You can get an idea of what by checking out the Index in my sig below.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you out there!
