And paintball. Subdual damage, negates camoflauge or something.

There are stats for paintball guns in UA. They deal no damage except on critical hits, and that is 1d6 nonlethal. I'd put something in about camoflauge, but how do blend into the terrain of a Walmart?

Good point... Although brownish colors can blend in with cardboard. But yeah, doesn't work that well indoors. Maybe you could do something weird with waxed floors. Doubles movement with successful balance check, knocks prone on a failure. Dc 15-20 or something.

LOL, this is a really silly idea, I love it.
Now I've got visions of Judge Dread patroling Mega-Wal-Mart One on his souped up motorized wheelchair-cart

I'd put something in about camoflauge, but how do blend into the terrain of a Walmart? Many ways. Certain colours, for example, would camoflauge you in certain parts of the store. In the store-rooms where there are a lot of cardboard boxes, browns would work (as was mentioned). It depends.
For example, you know those bright orange camping tents Walmart sells? Well if a whole clan uses them as houses in some part of the store, then bright orange would be a good camo colour there.
Remember, camoflauge isn't meant to make you invisible. It's just meant to make it so that you're not noticed as easily by just someone who's not really looking.
Rafter-people would probably wear lots of white and silvery tones. Because they're living near the fluorescent lighting - so people would have a harder time seeing them if they were garbed in bright colours which reflect that light even further.

I know camo isn't supposed to make you invisible, but in order for you to make camo you need to have something that is relatively uniform, and because most of walmart has an incredible mix of different colors, it would be all but impossilbe to use any form of traditional comoflauge. However, in sotarge rooms or other places with lots of boxes and near the ceiling camo would be very useful, and I think that most rafterfolk make extensive use of camoflauge (so fighting them with paintball guns might make sense, or better yet if a group had one person with heat-vision and he had a paintball gun then the others could easily find them, this would also be a good stratagey against more advance means of visual concealment...). Oh yeah, Vahenir, about you sig, the fellowship didn't run from the troll, they killed it. Of course, I don't think they're epic (the troll seemed to be an appropriate challenge), but I just wanted to point that out. CryptoNova, why would people use nerf weapons? They don't kill stuff, I can immagine people using them like Viking children used wooden swords, but I don't see it as something that people would use as their primary weapons. On the other hand, a band of orphan children might be armed with a bunch of them and act sort of like the kindergartners from Recess. But in order for using them to make any sense I would need some sort of game mechanic. However I love the images it brings up. die, yup you have the general idea (although I don't much about judge dread).

I wonder what the armor value of those blue vests would be, would the red vests be better? What about the green ones from lawn and garden? I used to work for Wal-Mart and they have these hand computers called Telezons. They have a pistol grip and a network connection. They can scan any item in the store and give a variety of information. With the right passwords they can order and do inventory control. They could make for interesting play items.

What are the vests made out of? I would think that their AC value would be based more on their material than their color, unless they're made of different stuff too? As for the telezons, they sound very interesting, I think I might make a similar item, but naturally it would have fallen out of use because of the robots. I think that perhaps I should go to Walmart some time soon, because I really don't go there much anymore (my insurance doesn't cover their vision center like it used to), so I need to make up a reason to go there for research...
Thanks for your replies!

Oh yeah, Vahenir, about you sig, the fellowship didn't run from the troll, they killed it. Of course, I don't think they're epic (the troll seemed to be an appropriate challenge), but I just wanted to point that out. Well.. firstly, it's sort of a joke, poking fun at the people who think every major figure of literature and fantasy should be epic.
Secondly, they only killed it in the movie. In the novel they ran away from it. Though they did kill a rather important Orc Chieftan - the bastard stabbed Frodo with a big spear. And that was changed over to a Troll with a REALLY big spear for the movie. Confusing.... Anywho.
I can't see nerf weapons doing anything. Although.. they are made of that soft.. foam stuff. What about nerf weapons dipped in some kind of acid or something? Ouch!
There are also nerf weapons that fire those plunger-dart things. What if you put little needles in the plunger part? I can't imagine it would do a LOT of damage.. but it would still hurt. And add poison (if any) and they could replace Drow Hand Crossbows with Poisoned Bolts... if you follow me. Sort of the Wal-Mart Equivalent.

Sorry about the troll thing, it's been a while since I read the books, but I just watched the movie a lot, so I don't rember what's been changed (aaarrgh!). And yeah, the "Is Gandalf Epic?" stuff is kind of annoying (especially since all true die-hard fans know that he isn't even human or really even properly mortal...).
But as to the nerf, I like the idea of people puting neeedles in the darts (I'd say maybe 1 point of damage and it delivers one dose of injury or contact poison). The balls I'm less sure about, I don't think they'd hold acid very well (but I haven't used on in a while, so those of you who have nerf guns, or have kids with nerf guns please correct me). But some of those are pretty cool. I'm puting the poison darts in there, and I'd kinda like a good reason for the ball ones too.
Thanks!
