Red Hand of Doom - Index of Threads being REFURBISHED (I'm moving old links to the bottom of pages, etc) The following Chapters are groups of links related by subject matter. Each Chapter is a separate reply below. Also, as I discover new links and check them out, they are edited (inserted) into the appropriate page, not posted as a seperate reply. So you should check the "Last Edited" dates on pages of interest. This is a very good start, thanks for doing this. Finished Phase II. You're welcome. I think it's as much for myself as anyone else, just to find these things. Then every few weeks when we get a Newb Dm asking questions (always welcome!) I can just go 'follow this link'.

Wow... thanks!

Well done. Now cast Summon Wizo and see if you can convince one to sticky it (at least until RHoD stops being such a hot topic for discussion).

Does anyone have a good map of the Bell Tower from the Ruins of Rhest chapter? It was not included in the module.

I guess I should clarify...does anyone have an accurate map of the bell tower in Rhest? The one mocked up on emworld has a house attached to it where the barracks attached to it. In the description of the tower it states that the tower is twenty feet above the water and that the inside had been converted to a barracks. It also reads that Korkulan takes up position on the stairs between levels when the alarm is sounded; nothing about a ladder. I'm not trying to be picky; I'm just a little frustrated with this section of RHOD. For the most part, I've liked the less structured style of the campaign. There's lots of space for a DM to fill in with his own ideas and flavor. However, I feel like the Ruins of Rhest could've been fleshed out a little bit better.

I guess I should clarify...does anyone have an accurate map of the bell tower in Rhest? The one mocked up on emworld has a house attached to it where the barracks attached to it. Huh. I've got three DIFFERENT maps of the Bell Tower that I've pulled from the web, and for the life of me, I can't find a link to any of them.
The one I WAS thinking of using is a 4 page pdf that looks like a scan of graphic output. The tower is 30' square on all sides.
However, the one done by dunjinni has an awesome appearance, as the waves on the lake are just jumping. This is probably the one that Fineous doesn't like, as it seems to have seperate guard house. It comes as 3 jpegs, the first is the overview, the second is the top of the Bell Tower, the last is the base of the tower. Given the artistic nature of dunjinni maps, it appears like two structures. But as I look closely at the roof-top image, I can see that far below is a dock. On the third image, that dock is more visiible, as it surrounds the tower. Thus the two plans should be stacked vertically. I had assumed that they were two different structures, seperated horizontally! I can see how this might be mistaken for two different buildings, as I've only just now discovered it.
The third version I've got is a set of 4 jpegs, an overview, complete with 3-d rendering, a lower level IN the water, a mid-level barracks, and an upper level bell top. This tower is about 20' square.
Huh, after all that, I'm going to go with the either the dunjinni image, or the third map. I'll have to re-read the encounter to see what fits best.
Gerry
ps. Oh, and eventually, I'll find the links and post them. ghs2 pps. Until then, if you really want them, send me a PM, and I'll zip them to you. 5MB! ghs2
