Really? I mean... I know where your coming from... and, truth be told, at my age it would likely be inapproprate to be hanging out and gaming with people under 21 anyway... but something about the idea of an 'age limit' bothers me as a form of discrimination. I dunno... when I really think about it, I find I pretty much agree with you. The few under 21 kids I have gamed with in other peoples game in the past few years were, to me, some of the worst players I have ever encountered. However, there is just something about a blanket statment like that which makes me uncomfortable. I are confused now... My gaming sessions are full of good food and are often accompanied with wine or scotch or some imported beers. Drinking is a pre-requisite to join my group. That sounds bad but it isn't. We don't chug beers or do shots or anything like that, but we don't use miniatures because the coffee table we game around in my living room is always full of good food and we often break out a bottle or two of wine and do a pairing with the artisan cheese or other delicacies people bring. If there is desert served I might break out a bottle of port. Sometimes, when I get a new bottle of scotch that I really like I'll share it with the group. So, while we don't get drunk and sometimes there isn't any alcohol at my sessions, there often is something served.
Gygaxian is NOT a slur. Those who use it as such should be punched in the face. Repeatedly.

That still doesn't answer my question of "do they have the LA?" Because I'll write you a freaking novel if it means getting the monster of legend template for free. Yes they have the LA.

I have to say that I am probably older than a lotta you guys and actually started playing 1st ed. We rolled our characters using 4d6 throw away the lowest die then arrange as you see fit. (I was a freshman in highschool) Over the space of a summer vacation (marathon Saturday gaming) I got my elven Fighter/Magic User to a 4th lvl magicuser/ 5th lvl fighter. When that guy died I was devastated! (killed by vegepymies) The only magic items I had was a +1 longsword, a couple of potions of healing, and elven chainmail. You had elven chainmail on that level character? Wow...
In the 1st/2nd ed. books, elven chainmail is EXTREMELY rare. You wouldn't have it at that level unless you performed a service to a king or something similar.
Monty Haul DM much?
On topic: I won't play in a game that emphasizes combat over RPing. I won't play in a game with people I consider douchebags. I won't play in a game with houserules I dislike. And finally, I won't play in a game that doesn't let me play my character instead of my stats - I want my words to have an effect at least equal to my charisma. I want my description to give bonuses or minuses in combat.

Things I don't allow:
ToB Players who tell me that my ruling is incorrect and I should rule differently Cheating (likely to result in permanent ejection of said player) PvP Fanboys of books I don't allow Whining Defiants/Ur-Priests Overly-homocidal PCs Diplomancers or any loop designed to get the PCs hordes of followers Players who insist that I should only use the Forgotten Realms setting instead of Greyhawk because it "died" PCs with the Lich template
I will not play in games where the DM constantly pits the party against challenges with ELs that are 5 higher than the party's or nerfs the PC who wants to use firearms by imposing a house rule that increases the reload time to 5 rounds just because it's "realistic." Both happened to me with the same DM and I don't want a repeat of it.
I will not play in games where the DM is constantly trying to get the paladin/saint to fall from grace (grabs automatic hammergun).
I will not play in games where all the undead have the lifesense/lifesight ability.
