You guys seen this: http://www.eol.org/

It's an effort to finally catalogue all known species of life on earth. I think they'll be adding fossil stuff last, but it'll be something to keep looking forward too.

Sorry I'm so late on adding stuff for the Cravank. I made a new core class and it's been unexpectedly time consuming..

Thanks for providing that link, bhu; this is very exciting news (I've just registered on the site). All the dinosaurs collected onto one site

An epanterias appears similar to a tyrannosaurus, but it is slighter in build. Its head is somewhat smaller, but its arms are long and powerful, ending in dangerous claws.  It weighs up to 5 tons.   It is often considered to be even more dangerous than its more famous cousin.

Combat
An epanterias tends to hunt large prey.  When attacking armed humanoids, it will try to capture and devour the largest individual first.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, an epanterias must hit an opponent of up to one size smaller with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can try to swallow the foe the following round.

Swallow Whole (Ex): An epanterias can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of up to two sizes smaller by making a successful grapple check. The swallowed creature takes 2d6+8 points of bludgeoning damage and 7 points of acid damage per round from the epanterias’s gizzard. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using a light slashing or piercing weapon to deal 25 points of damage to the gizzard (AC 13). Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out.

A Huge epanterias’s gizzard can hold 1 Medium, 4 Small, 16 Tiny, or 64 Diminutive or smaller opponents.

Skills
An epanterias has a +4 racial bonus on Listen and Spot checks.

(Yes, it is based off the tyrannosaurus - add claw attacks, boost Dex and natural armor, reduce HD by 1, drop one Toughness feat, increase racial bonus to skills.)

NOTE: Epanterias is often considered to be the same genus as Allosaurus, but it is almost certainly a distinct species (despite the claims of some taxonomic extremes.)

Thank you very much.

By the way, dinodata.net is an awesome site and where I get my info on new discoveries, but you do need to register. That's where I heard about Sinocalliopteryx first.

Thanks for the info!
Incredible: an Allosaurus that may be larger than a Tyrannosaurus! That would give some equilibrium to the ecosystems of the Jurassic, with all those incredibly big sauropods. At least there was this Epanterias around, because a normal Allosaurus would have had few chances against sauropods.
I'm going to join you in the creation of some extinct beasts! They're my passion!

ANOMALOCARIS

The anomalocaris is indeed a miniaturized sea monster, but beware, giant exemplars have been found.

Space 2-1/2 ft.; Reach 0 ft.

Abilities Str 6, Dex 16, Con 10, Int -, Wis 13, Cha 2
Feats Weapon Finesse (B)
Skills Hide +15, Listen +1, Move Silently +7, Spot +5
Advancement 1-2 HD (Tiny), 3-5 HD (Small), 6 HD (Medium)
________________________________________

Improved Grab (Ex) To use this ability an anomalocaris must hit with a barbed tentacle attack. An anomalocaris can use either its Strength or Dexterity modifier for grapple checks, whichever is better.

Devour (Ex) An anomalocaris deals automatic bite damage on a successful grapple check.

Mutilating bite (Ex) if the anomalocaris wins a grapple check, dealing bite damage on a smaller creature or an appendage of an equally sized or larger creature (like a humanoid finger) it deals 1 point of Constitution damage from blood loss or mutilation.
The Constitution damage improves with Advancement, being 1d2 for Small anomalocaria, and 1d3 for Medium anomalocaria.
When meeting the above conditions, the bite of the anomalocaris is also treated as having the Vorpal special ability, with the exception that the natural 20 and the critical confirmation required for the effect must be rolled as grapple checks. The critical confirmation would be, in this case, a second successful grapple check. Larger creatures are immune to this last effect.

Skills An anomalocaris has a +4 racial bonus on Move Silently, Hide and Spot checks.

________________________________________

Anomalocaris was a swimming creature which possibly used flexible lobes on the sides of its body to propel itself through the water. Its large head had one pair of large, possibly compound, eyes, and a disk-like mouth that resembled a slice of pineapple. Two large 'arms' with barb-like spikes were positioned in front of the mouth; Anomalocaris probably used these to grab prey and bring it to its mouth.
For the time in which it lived Anomalocaris was a truly gigantic creature, reaching lengths from an already large 60 cm (2 ft) to a staggering 2 m (6 ft 8 in).
Compared with many of the other sea-dwelling creatures of its time, anomalocarids were extremely agile. The flaps along its body could probably be moved in a wave-like formation, allowing it to move at great speeds or to 'hover'. This motion could be compared to present-day Batoidea (rays). The shell of the anomalocarids was more flexible than those of its prey, allowing it easier movement.

[from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anomalocaris and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anomalocarididae]

Strategies and Tactics

Anomalocaris is a predator that relies on its ability to ambush preys. If it manages to get close to its prey and grapple it with its barbs, the unlucky creature is quickly devoured, sliced into small pieces by the many teeth of the mouth and the following esophagus.
Larger creatures, like humanoids, could normally incur into light wounds only, but if they do not watch out for their fingers or other appendages as hears, they could be easily mutilated.
However, larger anomalocaria have mouths that could easily fit a medium humanoid's head, so the danger grows up exponentially.

Ecology

Little is know of the habits of the anomalocaria, but it is believed to be a lonely predator. Perhaps, in more dangerous environments than their original ones, a couple or a larger group could live closely together to protect their eggs and younglings from other predators.

Environment: The rich fauna of the rifts and their warm waters are the two only things that an anomalocaris needs to live well.

Hehe... The Vorpal rule is optional of course! :D
Oh, and even if I studied Latin, I don't know if the right plural is anomalocaria or anomalocarii... I should ask my old professor... :D

Well, a medium anomalocaris , with the rules I set up and a bit of luck, could kiil a 20th level character!
However, a bigger, although not as deadly arthropod is on the way... Maybe in the typical monstruous vermin "format" from Tiny to Colossal.
