Why is sneezing at a crab the topic of discussion here? did everything die off while I was gone? so... confused... The person who created the challenge in the first place decided that he/she was no longer interested. That and the horrible organization of the myriad of scattered houserules are likely to have put a damper on the enthusiasm of most potential participants.
As far as giant enemy crabs go, that's part of the plan I'm throwing together to show just how little respect I have for gameplay after level 40. I'm putting together a band of ECL ~70 characters and making their attack as much of a joke as possible while still retaining the possibility of success.
("Nothing to sneeze at" is a figure of speech meaning that the subject is worth serious consideration. In this case, I was pointing out that most of the more mundane save-or-die options available to a PC would require augmentation if their feasibility as weapons versus Dispater was to be assured.)

My misfortune. I wanted my revenge. Not to mention that I agree with You wholeheartedly, Avoraciopoctules. People often treat Epic, and gameplay in general, too serious. I never had problems with too weak fiendish lords or fact that PC from 842 lvl can kick ass of Ao himself. Never liked this overgod anyway. :P BTW, what do You honestly think of Ring of Infinite Wishes as DM's ? Most people I ask for such things (and I ask for such things only when my PC's have cash to have it for pocket change) seem to treat it as "Baseball bat of DM-bane +666". And Siege Crabs ... how would You protect these preeties from baking alive in Dis ? It is Hellishly fiery place You know.

I think of the wish spell thus: The caster of the spell releases a force of semisentient magic, and directs it to manifest in a specific way. This magic is bolstered by the caster's life force (the XP cost) and/or the surrounding ambient magic (for cost-free SLAs) to the extent that it can create an effect of up to a standard 10th level spell in power. Its manifestation is controlled as much by intent as by wording, so if you cast it yourself and ask for an effect too powerful, it will probably either partially fulfill it (I wish for a staff of the magi: a staff of the magi that can hold up to 5 charges maximum is created.) or fizzle harmlessly.
The abuse potential for infinite wishes is already here. Just chain-bind efreeti. If you can both afford and plausibly find available for sale/make a Ring of Infinite Wishes, I as a DM would accept it. At that level, many options are more powerful than wishes, so wish is mostly a utility spell. I might require a full-round action instead of a standard action when making a wish that took a long time to say (more than a sentence or so).
In houseruled games, I usually use the wish variant in post #6 of the Tome of Fiends (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=646241).
EDIT: As far as the fiendish siege crabs go, http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/fiendishCreature.htm. Fire resistance 10.
