Good point. I hadn't thought of them as collectors items. Maybe I can spin it like that if we have many left.
Thanks again!

I also anticipate ALL my players choosing phyrexian. It just makes the most sense for anyone actually wanting to win.
I've had a number of inquiries from people wanting to buy any left-over packs, so I'm not too worried about selling the 100+ packs of mirran I'll have left over.
It will suck if we have more players than anticipated, and the last people are forced into mirran. I just think this whole idea of splitting factions for the pre-release was a bad one.

I was talking with another store today about what they are doing for their prerelease. They told me they're doing signup sheets for each faction. You can sign up for whatever faction you want, but if you're one of the last people to sign up you may end up in the other faction. Basically, the store is forcing a 50/50 split between the faction. This does two things. First, it makes the Phrexian vs. Mirran battle more effective. Second, it makes sure that players aren't forced to be all be Mirran on day 2 of the prerelease.
Likewise, in their draft they'll be giving everyone 1 pack Phyrexian and 1 pack Mirran and letting the players open either pack first. Competitively this will create a more balanced draft and allow players to play either faction rather than them being forced to play Phyrexian because 7 out of 8 players wanted Phyrexian packs.
It may be too late for some of you to implement these ideas, but I thought I would bring them up as they balance out the experience a bit more.
