Hello all,
I'm trying to start up a DnD Encounters program in my local gaming store in Jacksonville Florida. I can't seem to find the process by which I am able to become a public-play WPN Organizer.
I'm currently a Herald level DM for the RPGA. What other exams must I take and pass to be able to sanction an event in a public place, and order a DnD Encounters packet for my local store? I am not an employee or owner of the venue, but I've talked to them and they are excited to host the event.
I hope to get this all set to go before the deadline for ordering the next season of DnD Encounters which starts at the end of September.
Thanks for the help!

Anthony, Becoming an Organizer no longer requires taking a test. All you need to do is follow the steps listed here. Once you have filled out the form you will just need to wait for Wizards to verify that your public location exists, then they will approve you as a T.O. and you will be able to sanction your encounters events at webapp.wizards.com/sanction.aspxIf you have any problems with the process let us know or get ahold of your WPN Rep (Doug): How to Contact Your WPN Rep

Awesome! Thanks James! I'm now just awaiting WotC to verify the venue. I assume that involves contacting the store?

My pleasure!
Wizards has lots of ways to verify locations, from checking websites, asking people they know in the area, calling the store, et cetera. The process usually only takes a few days, but can take up to a week. Just a reminder, they will not e-mail you to tell you you have been approved, it'll just happen. So keep checking your DCI home page.

Hmm, I think I may have run into a snag. I talked to the owner of the store I want to run my events for, and he said that Wizards contacted him on Monday and he confirmed the venue with them. It's four days later and I'm still getting the following error when I try to sanction public play DnD events: There is a problem with your request. Most likely you are not a coordinator for this brand or you have no public venues on file. Please contact your WPN representative for assistance. Is it abnormal for this much of a delay after they've already called the store to confirm? Or am I just being too antsy?

It's a manual process and I'm not sure what the usual turn-around time is. You may want to contact your WPN rep and/or email customer service to let them know that it still doesn't work, but you may find that if you wait a little longer it gets turned on one day.

Two weeks and counting since they contacted the owner of the store, who confirmed the venue (Two weeks and two days since I applied for the venue). My Event Sanctioning page is still giving me that error. I've called my representative, Doug, last week and left a message, and left another message today.
Anyone have any advice for further steps I should take?
EDIT: I've since gone to Wizard's customer service site and submitted the problem through their email system. Guess we'll just see what comes next.
EDIT2: Woot! Looks like customer service did the trick. Event sactioned and ready to go! woot woot!

Glad to hear it!
Do make sure you sanction all 20 sessions for Encounters Season 3 at the same time, otherwise you can run into problems later.
Have fun!

Eh? All 20? I think I just sanctioned the entire season at once?
Also, when you get your sanction number for the event, in that confirmation email, does that mean the supplies are being shipped to the venue? When will I know that the supplies get there?
