Hi,

Few years ago, I became a TO, but I wasn't very active because soon after, a store nearby become very interested in magic and started to regularly organize tournaments. I started judging there and helped the community grow.

Time passed by, and last year when all Judges were upgraded to TO's my TO status as a level 2 judge was upgraded to Core. I thought "Nice, if I ever need to organize tournaments this will come handy "

Now, store nearby closed, and magic community started searching for a new place to play. Soon a new location was found, a hobby store that organizes RPG events. As they never organized magic tournaments, I decided to help them by being their TO for magic.

I started to process of registering that store as a venue were magical tournaments will be held. It was a very long process as online form for submitting venues is not working for locations outside of US/Canada... and response time from wpn@Hasbro.be is kind of slow... but finally , after more then a month of waiting, Hasbro BE informed me that they added location to my venues manually and that i can now start scheduling events there.

Yesterday i wanted to schedule an event for this weekend, but when i clicked "wpn events" i got the message "There is a problem with your request. Most likely you are not a coordinator for this brand or you have no public venues on file. Please contact your WPN representative for assistance." .... I asked wizards customer support about this, they told me ""Thank you for contacting us. I've looked into this, and found you are indeed an organizer for WPN materials. Which would lead me to believe, each country handles different events/promotions/WPN materials in different ways. Contacting your local department would probably be your best bet again." ...

So I wrote a message to my local office, Hasbro BE, and while waiting for their response ( which will take who knows how long ) i decided to organize an ordinary booster draft. Players are getting anxious to play magic so i tried to schedule it for Saturday , but i got error message "This event must be sanctioned at least 7 days ahead of time". I thought " what now??? " ...

After some investigation i discovered that i am no longer a core level organizer. My current status is gateway.

I presume this is related with adding a new venue, so I wanted to ask, is there a way to get my previous TO status restored?

You should email customer service and they'll restore your status if it was downgraded when they added the new venue.

If it was downgraded because of the new TO policy then you'll will need to earn the upgrade.

Micko,

Are you still a certified judge?

If you are still a current judge then your T.O. level is official core.  It is possible that your status got temporarily bumped down to gateway when they added the venue.   If this is the case, aneotoena has correctly told you to e-mail wpn@hasbro.be to get it fixed.

If you are no longer a currently certified judge then your status is correctly gateway and you will need to work a few events (or renew your judgeship) to get up to core.

What is the normal response time for wpn@hasbro.be?

EDIT: lined out inaccurate information.

Hi,

Yes I am still a judge. So my default TO level should be Core? That sounds good ... but... i asked the same question to the Wizards Customer service , and they responded that in order to advance from gateway level i need to meet the requirements for the Core level. They didn't mention anything about me being a judge is relevant to my TO level.

Concerning Hasbro BE response time ... i wrote a mail to them, asking them to add my new venue manually ( as Wizards Customer service instructed me to do, since the online submission form for adding venues outside of US/Canada is not working )
The mail was sent on the 10th of May.
I waited for more then two weeks, but there was no answer...  so i wrote to them again on the 27th May, asking what was the status of my issue.
Then i waited some more... and finally, a month after my first email, i got my first response from them on the 8th of June

Because of this, i would like to leave emailing Hasbro BE as my last action, after i gather all the relevant information

So, before writing to them, i would like to know if I am entitled to a TO Core level, or not

Tnx for your help.

I don't know if the new TO policy affects certified judges too, it may be a posibility. Maybe James can get an official answer.

Micko,

WOTC staff won't be back into the office until Monday, so until then I will not have an official answer on the issue.  I'll leave you with this quote from a judge list e-mail that came out April 28th (after the changes to the WPN levels was announced):

Your Organizer status granted as a judge should be independent of any/all stores you're associated with.  My status as an active Judge would make me a Core; my actual Organizer level is Advanced.  I'm fairly confident that you will be whichever higher status you've earned; when Judges became Organizers I was bumped to Core, although as already active TO I had only achieved Gateway status at that point.  Now I'm Advanced, although my Judge status only rates me as a Core.

Micko,

Andy Heckt got back to me today saying that judges do not receive an automate core status since the the most recent changes to the WPN.  The change did effect about 12% of judges, and Andy would like you to e-mail him directly so he can look into what has happened.  I'll PM you with his e-mail address.

Hi,

I spoke with Andy, and he helped me solve my problem.

Concerning Judges and TO levels, there is no longer a connection. TO levels are determined by associated venues.

I will quote part of Andy's answer:
"The WPN switched to levels by associated venue, and not by the organizer’s level. Your best venue where you organize events is what level you have now"

Thank you everyone for your help, as my problems have been solved, this topic can be locked.
