It is not just a game, it is a competition. In friendly games, sure, do whatever ridiculous thing you want. In a sanctioned tournament game it is reasonable to have restrictions that speed play and minimize cause for issues. I shouldn’t have to take it upon myself to inspect your dice. That slows down the game and creates ill will between players. The rules should take care of it.

If you want to inspect them, then it is you who is waisting time. A person with just one die is just as likely to cheat with it as is a person with 10 dice.
If you want to inspect my dice because I have more then one, then I want to inspect your die because I think it is suspicous that you only have one.
(I am being factious, I'm not really going to inspect you dice)

So instead you'd rather the event organizer inspect everyone's dice or make him have to provide dice for everyone? I think you would find this a less than popular solution.

Actually, roonechr has a really good point, and your quibbling isn't really refuting it.
While I have no issues with having a few extra dice, it is necessary to check them. Not because I think that my opponent personally is a cheater, but because I know that there are people who cheat out there, and I can't tell a cheater from an honest player just by looking at them.
If my opponent brings multiple dice to the table, I'm going to need to check each of them, because that would be an excellent way to cheat, bring several honest dice and one rigged one, and just use the rigged one for important rolls.
I understand that the last three posters were trying to be amusing, but when I've paid money to enter a tournament, and there is a cash prize on the line, it stops being quite so funny.

I do think everyone should use one die, and I do think it should be provided by the event organizer.
In fact, the two players should share a single die. Any abnormalities in that one item is then shared equally, good or bad.
Sometimes people's "lucky dice" aren't just lucky, they have slight imperfections that favor certain rolls, or at least sides of the die. They aren't loaded, the person isn't cheating intentionally, but the manufacturing process isn't perfect.
I'd be fine with the event organizer hading out the generic starter set dice to all participants, or at least 1 for each game.

"All these dice", even for Nationals, it would only be about 60 dice (including extras) if every game had 1 die associated with it.
Some of the people posting on this thread have attested to having more then that. I don't think it unreasonable that they be provided. If the sealed booster torunaments can get "all of those boosters", 2 per player, I think they can manage 1 die for every 2 players, or even 1 per player.
Like I said, standard orange starter set dice would be perfect for this.

I was being quite serious when I said I think it just as important to inspect the guy who has 1 die as it would to inspect the guy with 50.
