I, for one, am happy that the PC figures will be packaged so that I can buy the ones I want. In my rpg games, I focus more on interaction with humans/demihumans/humanoids. Depending on the rarity scheme of the monster packs, it may be possible to collect all 40 with one case purchase provided they limit themselves to 12 rares per release and 12 boosters per case. Even if they don't do this, there is still the secondary market.

V

Wow as some who has been in on this since Chainmail and has every mini produced to date I am concerned about the latest events but interested in understanding what the new possibilities may be. Live is change. The only sure thing is if WOTC does not attempt to improve their products their products will no longer exist. Hopefully they will respect the people who have made a significant commitment to then through purchasing WOTC products. I have faith for now and will wait patiently.

As I said, I know for a fact that the DDM updates are going forward. So, even if Demonweb were the last set of skirmish stats (which I doubt), there would be a larger pool of professionally designed minis in 2.0 -- but, hey, let's cross that bridge when we come to it I should/could of been clearer, and added 'new sets' to my sentence. I didn't mean to imply I thought the current restat project was going to end up fan based, but if the newer format of cards were to be done by fans etc ....

Does this imply that the Feywild and the huge set for next year will have their minies moved into the new sets? Of course, only medium and large minies are in the Dangerous Delves line. No small minies for you! Is another set planned to incorporate the huges?

My guess is they announce a new huge series, 3 huges with one visible for $25.99. Oh, and of course one in each pack will be a monster you won't ever find in any MM.

As I said, I know for a fact that the DDM updates are going forward. Really? Well that's positive news. Any inside info on a release schedule? Originally I thought they were doing one set a month. If it hadn't been for that beta set they released after the All-Stars were delivered, I would have begun to through they were letting that project die a quiet death. It's the one chance to bring a lot of my friends back to the minis game. Then again, with their new proposed pricing, those chances are probably nil anyways.

I hope huge figures will be reserved for scenario packs rather than (semi)random boosters.
We know there will be two waves of Hero sets in 2009 and three waves in 2010, but there was no mention of how many monster sets we will be seeing. I'm assuming two monster sets in 2009 and three in 2010 to complement the Hero sets. Also, no mention on if both Hero and Monster sets will be released in the same month. WOTC may stagger the releases to keep them from competing with each other for our gaming bucks.

Any inside info on a release schedule? As far as I know, the once-per-month schedule stands.

Also no mention of starter sets or maps. Please don't stop with the maps.

I can't help but wonder if Delve will be their new tourney structure. I know they are different games, but currently Wizkids is having their tournaments run by scenarios and they seem to be having pretty good success with it. If Delve were run in a similar fashion I think that could be good.
