I'm glad to see this happen. I was sad to see the origin of D&D (as Chainmail) start to fade away but I'm glad to see it opened up and licensed out to dedicated folks who will surely carry on the flag.
Good luck, guys!

This is indeed really great news, can't wait to see what happens next. I think we all needed some good news with all the negative toughts going around lately on some of the posts.
Thx guys. :D

If the DDM guild carries on the torch then I will FOR SURE buy the future set releases from WotC for skirmish play. This is huge- the fact that they will get access to set lists before they are released means I can buy the miniatures and have stats around at the same time. This makes me very happy- I have a reason to invest in next year's miniatures. Donations for the guild will be a priority for me.

This is indeed great news. Now, let's get those local players fired up about skirmshing again:D

I'm a die hard gamer and I have been playing D&D for 20 years and started playing with my son a few years back. He started buying DDM figs for our games around that time, but I decided to wait and use my old Ral Partha figs (I've owned a few hobby stores over the years and had a lot of them). About a week before the announcement DDM skirmishes was being discountinued I bought my first starter and booster, so I was really bummed at the announcement(especially because I love competitive tournement play for CCGs and CMGs). My wife and I played for the first time last night and talked about how this game could have easily become one of those games we would travel to compete in tournament play. This news is awsome and a true testament that WotC cares about their fan base. Thanks to WotC and The Guild for keeping this game alive.:D
