Stargates? Really?
No, seriously. Stargates?
Say ten Hail Shmi's and an Act of Contrition.

Awwww, come on, FTJ. Why not? I mean, there are lots of foreign elements incorporated into Star Wars:

...and...
And you KNOW there are others! I mean, what *is* Star Wars if not a collage or montage of homages? (Whoah! Try saying THAT five times fast! "Collage or montage of homages. Collage or montage of homages. Collage or montage of homages...")

In fact, the Infinity Gates of the Kwa are stargates, now that I think of it. So it's Celestial technology that's ALREADY been incorporated into the Star Wars universe by Pat Mills and Dark Horse Comics more than a decade ago, in June of 2000.

Some people hated that Arwen stood in for Glorfindel in the Fellowship of the Ring movie. Even worse, she displayed the "inner light" that only elves of the Two Trees era should have, and usurped Elrond and Gandalf's magic to boot.
Personally, I didn't mind Arwen riding to the rescue. Now, if Arwen rode to the rescue on a flying carpet, that I would have a problem with. Some people might be like, "Kewl! Middle Earth has flying carpets now!" but not me.
Just sayin'.

Even if the Easterlings had one?
Hrm...a flying carpet...
There you go, Garrett, that may be a trope that would be a challenge to seemlessly integrate into a Star Wars story. I'm gonna cogitate on that for a while, and see if I can come up with a way to have a magic carpet in my next Star Wars session...

You know, I've been watching SG-1 reruns lately (broadcast, now up to 5th season) and there are things there that would work in the SW Universe. While I wouldn't make instantaneous galactic transit too common I do think it could exist and the presence of the Fold Space Force Power and its enhancements already makes such travel possible.
Ultimately the StarWars galaxy is a pretty big galaxy but we only really get to see a very small portion of it. I'd guess that MANY other things can be mined for material that could go somewhere in the starwars universe. For example: I want to run Mechs some time and while they are similiar to walkers (and would likely be written up like them) I'd put their origin and primary use area somewhere that repulsor craft have a hard time opporating.
