Fair enough. If LucasArts wants to intervene and put a stop to it, that is certainly their prerogative. They have a right to protect their interests.
If an authorized LucasArts representative would like to step forward and protest, now would be the time.
I actually went back and read the thread again and saw this. You say this very lightly, and you probably shouldn't. Granted, the people who are in the best position to stop you aren't reading this right now, and so they're not going to be chiming in on the thread. If if someone makes a program, fine. If they share it with their friends, fine. But I wouldn't dare put it up on the internet or you WILL find lawyers who are very anxious to intervene to protect the perrogative of LucasArts. People have tested this, been shut down, and threatened severely enough that the fear of God was put into them. It was bad enough that you can scarcely find reference to the name of the program, and it was from then on refered to as "The Program That Cannot Be Named" (TPTCBN).
What the heck is "The Program That Cannot Be Named" ??

It was a character generator (with a number of other pretty awesome functions) that was available for the RCR version of the d20 game. It was a real labor of love for the guys who made it, but then LFL got wind, made WotC enforce a part of the licence where it said that they will not create or allow to exist stand alone software for their products. I talked with the guy who made it and he was prohibited from distributing it, it's source code, or really having anything to do with it in its current form, previous forms, or anything that resembled it. The guy didn't even want to talk about the program out of fear of retribution. Thus, the name fell out of use and the name "The Program That Cannot Be Named" took its place. I only vaguely have some semblance of a memory of what the real name was. But honestly, you are more likely to find reference to it under the TPTCBN name at this point. Since then, anyone who was into SW gaming realized what would happen if you make a stand alone program, and few have ever tried to follow suit. Edit:
You can find the original shut down thread here, it even includes the original name of the programs somewhere in the mishmash: holonet.swrpgnetwork.com/showthread.php?...

Unfortunately, the thread over there seems to have gone a bit cold. Could just be because it's a big project and the guy who was taking the lead has been busy, but who knows.
Here's hoping it's not just sound and fury signifying nothing. I really want a Saga data file set for HeroLab, darnit!
