Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is a big leap forward for online
multiplayer role-play games. Its depth of story-telling and freedom
of character decisions make it an ideal vehicle for developing
characters in the Star Wars Universe. Its multi-player aspects bring
role-play to life in the interactions of different player-controlled
characters.
The Pen and Paper Roleplay Society is a unique Guild for SWTOR.
Formed by pen and paper role-play veterans with many decades of pen
and paper experience, we take our model of role-play not from
role-play chat-rooms but instead from the best of pen and paper
role-play. We eschew "god-modding", "plotting" and all the other
excesses common to the chat-room. Instead we believe that the DMIG
and that the game is the DM. We play together in scheduled 'parties'
that act much like a traditional pen and paper gaming group. Our aim
is to experience what the game has to offer at a pace conducive to
role-play and character development.
