About the Virtual Table RPG Portal
Overview
The Virtual Table RPG portal of EV was founded in November 2011 by Ardis Foxx and Viv. We created the portal as a platform from which we can create and run RPG games online with our friends and guild members, and to use our experience to train new DM's, creating new opportunities to expand our list of campaigns and our player roster. We are mainly focused on the D&D 4th Edition ruleset, but we also play other systems. We use the virtual table at roll20.net/ to host these games online.
Goals
The motivating factor of the portal is to ensure the best play experience possible for an internet-based tabletop RPG. We seek to hold a high standard of excellence in creating, maintaining and running campaigns. Our goal is also to propagate- using a mentoring system we help new DM's every step of the way along their journey to becoming confident and successful DM's in their own right. The application process looks a little complex and for the life of me I cannot find how to apply. All I could find was the flow chart.

We've got two D&D 4e campaigns running at the moment and we're looking to start a third very soon. Deeds of Fire is a homebrew roman/greek style campaign that follows the deeds of a few war heroes after the death of the emperor. In the Dragon's Shadow is set in Thesk, Faerûn. It's a campaign where east meets west, and features many oriental staples such as yakuza, ronin, honorable warriors and devious assassins, as well as all the rich lore that makes the Forgotten Realms the most popular D&D campaign setting of all time. This third campaign looks to be a Gamma World or Fallout style game, but there's also a chance it could steer towards Star Wars Saga Edition. Send a PM to Seihava or myself if you're interested.

Hey there guys and gals! Just wanted to pop in and give an update on the VT RPG division. Things are going really well and it is rather exciting to see how lively everything is becoming!
Our third campaign, Dawn of Defiance (Star Wars Saga Edition), has a thriving roster and we're all rather thrilled about the growth in the division. In fact, things are so lively that we've had another campaign proposal for the Ravenloft setting which is expected to also gain a full roster. It's really a good feeling to be able to offer different styles of campaigns, and having four will most likely offer a nice variety of times for scheduling the sessions so that everyone gets to play.

The Ravenloft campaign is up and running at it's epicwords site, Mists of Dread and Terror. Our campaign is going to begin with each of our adventurers finding themselves alone in a swamp, with each character having thier own backstory on what they were doing and potentially how they got pulled into Ravenloft. The following is all our lucky adventurers have to go on as they begin thier journey. "Your vision is filled with a clinging, creeping fog, rising from water like spectral steam. The fog surrounds you, its dampness caressing you like cold, dead hands. All that remains visible is the cold, choking fog. For a moment, everything is quiet. What few sounds you can hear are amplified by the surrounding mists: your own breathing, your beating heart. Then the fog begins to dissipate, your senses begin to take in fragments of information. The water grows darker, a faint croaking, an overwhelming earthy aroma, slimy wetness brushing your leg. Fading away, the fog seems to pull at reality, drawing shape and form and texture into it, revealing vined trees and dank pools of water barely distinguishable from mossy lengths of ground until the fog is but a looming mist in a full vibrant swamp. Hums and gurgles and hisses resound as you catch your bearings. Night seems to be settling over this swamp, cloaking the dense undergrowth in darkness and turning the water’s surface to inky black. In panic, your thoughts finally catch up to the harsh reality before them. Where am I? How did I get here? Is anybody else here? What is out there? Am I going to die? Am I dead already? What do I do?"
