Hi everyone, and welcome back to You Build the Character. This month we tackle Grievous, the cyborg formerly known as Qymaen jai Sheelal, Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Army and a man (or alien) desperately in need of a cough sweet. You have until 11.59pm (PDT) on Thursday 19 May to post your RPG stats, and any notes you want to post explaining your decisions. Once submissions have closed, all forum members will have until 11.59pm (PDT) on Thursday 2 June to vote for their favourite. Whichever build receives the most votes will win.
The prize for winning is having your stats enshrined in the YBtC Hall of Fame, as well as the bragging rights.
The following rules apply to all submissions:
All builds must be created according to RAW, with no house rules (no single Athletics skill, no bonus feats for bloodlines etc).
You may use "unlimited" point buy for Grievous's ability scores, provided each score is between 3 and 18 at first level (before racial and age adjustments).
You are free to use material from all official Saga Edition books, up to and including The Unknown Regions.
Your stats may represent Grievous at any point during his life, or serve as an overall interpretation of the character as a whole. You may even include multiple stats to represent multiple points in time, provided they are all different level versions of the same build (ie no swapping out talents or feats).
Grievous is a Kaleesh, and as such uses the Kaleesh species traits provided on page 12 of The Clone Wars Campaign Guide.
You may change your stats at any point up until submissions close, at which point any edited stats will be disqualified.
You can follow this competition on Twitter, and get a message every time a new build is posted. Just follow @YBtCContests.
Have fun everyone, and may the Force be with you.

*General Grievous has completed the Destruction destiny, as evidenced by his ruthless decimation of several Yam'rii worlds. He gains a +2 Destiny bonus to his Strength score.
Design notes: The first stat block represents Grievous prior to the loss of his partner Ronderu lij Kummar and before he becomes the supreme warlord (khagan) of his people. His stats reflect the fact that he was primarily focused on his skill with a slugthrower rifle (Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Sport Hunter), but has begun to master swordmanship and the multi-weapon prowess he will later become infamous for. I decided to give him a much higher starting Strength score than he likely would normally have, as it really isn't clear whether or not Tech Specialist droid traits would work with a cyborg-hybrid body. I just played it safe in this case to make things simple.
The second block represents Grievous as well all know and love him, right before Obi-Wan tears him a new one. By this point in his career, Grievous is an established slayer of Jedi and trained in the seven forms of lightsaber combat personally by Count Dooku himself, hence the two levels of Jedi (mostly done for the free proficiency feat, but also thematically acceptable). Aside from the standard Dual Weapon Mastery, Double Attack and Triple Attack feats, I decided to go with the Unrelenting Assault + Whirling Death combo to help represent his unorthodox lightsaber-blender fighting style. Even if Grievous misses an attack, which is likely if he uses his additional Double/Triple attacks, he still deals some damage. And just being adjacent to him can get a person damaged as well.
I actually thought about giving him more Elite Trooper levels over Officer, as most Officer stuff is all mind-affecting, which does nothing for his droid troops. But in the end Officer seemed the simplest and is character-appropriate, if mechanically a little bland - though Share Talent (Tough as Nails) does give some of his droid troops a bit of staying power, which is handy.
Also note that Grievous is fresh out of Destiny Points as of the Utapau battle - he probably should've saved one for an emergency or gone after some extra XP to level up!
The Putrid Dork Fallacy: "Just because a rule is written one way doesn't mean it can't be interpreted in a completely different way."
RUW - Rules Unclearly Written. For more information, see RAW and RAI.
@johnnyputrid: You could swap out something for Leader of Droids feat. That allows a few droid allies to be affected by beneficial mind-affecting effects. Also, most unfortunate that Grevious cannot take levels in Droid Commander. That would be a great match.
I'm both selfish and rational. I'm scheming, secretive and manipulative; I use knowledge as a tool for personal gain, and in turn obtaining more knowledge. At best, I am mysterious and stealthy; at worst, I am distrustful and opportunistic.
I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.
Come on, no one else wants to stat one of the many faces of General Grievous (to borrow a phrase from RobShanti )? The tragic Kaleesh warlord of Visionaries? The unstoppable cyborg badass of Clone Wars? The cowardly, mustache-twirling mastermind of the films? The living TV antenna of Revenge of the Brick?
You have one week until submissions close.

N-K Necrosis was a highly advanced combat droid created from the body of the late General Grievous of the CIS during the Galactic Civil War. Doctor Nycolai Kinesworthy, a cybernetic scientist was hired by the Galactic Empire to create the Necrosis Droid. After placing an advanced droid brain in the mechanical body, Kinesworthy dubbed the completed project "N-K Necrosis," and renamed the aging MagnaGuards "NK-3" The NK-3s instructed Necrosis on how to fight with a lightsaber, with Necrosis wielding a double-bladed lightsaber...Due to the heuristic programming from Kinesworthy's new droid brain, N-K Necrosis had traits similar to the former host of his body, the late General Grievous, though Kinesworthy assured Necrosis that he was better...
