Especially since I feel like stating leia below say level 5 is a serious flaw. At least as the movies go. She seems much more capable than that.
I don't see why she needs to be at level 5, especially at the beginning of Episode 4. FP's and DP's can help you succeed just as much as levels can. I wouldn't call a level 3 character "not capable." Anyway, she would progress through level 5 and beyond as the movies progress. But at the beginning of the story, she's not awesome. Yet.

FWIW I disagree. She is standing (diplomatically) toe to toe with Vader and tarkin, has had a distinguished career in the senate, and has had a fundamental hand in the formation of the Rebel Alliance. Compared to a farm boy just begining his training as a jedi, she is leaps and bounds more capable and powerful.
That to me indicates that she is far beyond the introductory stages of levels, so I would peg her as minimum 5.
5th level isn't "awesome" but she is awesome. She has already been the target of imperial plots to keep her father in line, she is brazen, mouthy, un-afraid (more or less), and capable of doing so much more than a level 3 character is.
All opinion of course.
My Blog, mostly about D&D. I imagine that Majestic Moose plays a more "A team" type game than most of us. By that I mean he allows his players to make tanks out of a backyard playground set since the players have more "fun" that way.
Actually I much prefer The Losers.Spoiler:

When I and my friends sit down we want a game of heroic fantasy. Rare is the moment when I have cried out in a video game or RPG "that's unrealistic." (Unless there is no jump button. Seriously makes me mad, single handedly ruined the N64 zelda series for me, but that's a digression of a digression.)
I mean, we play games with the force in galaxies far, far away, with supernatural horrors, dragons and demi-gods, alternate cosmologies, etc.
Reality and it's effects hold little sway to what makes a Heroic fantasy game fun IMO.

A level 1 character can be brazen, mouthy, and unafraid. Like I said in an earlier post in this thread, what makes Leia interesting is her personality, which is very difficult to translate into a statblock. There's no feat for being "Spunky."
Anyway, it's not a big deal, since there's not much difference between level 3 character and a level 5 character, except for a couple more skill points, a feat, and a talent.

Hey guys, there's something I forgot to mention. I was going to ask everyone who votes to also suggest which character they'd like to see as the next competition. Since this month we had a movie character, next time will be someone from the EU. Let me know who you'd like to see.

Let's try: Kal Skirata (Badass Mandalorian; member of Jango Fett's "Cuy'val Dar"; activist for Clones Rights; thief)
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kal_Skirata OR Xizor (Falleen Prince; mastermind behind the Black Sun Crime Sindicate; Palpatine's best buddy; playboy) starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Prince_Xizor

Greetings ! Good work everyone... I very much appreciate the simplicity and efficiency of fairytalejedi's build ! I'm seduced by the creativity and explanations of Quvmoh's build ! I vote for Darth_Scorpion's build ... precise, complete and intelligent. For future builds, I suggest... From the movie : The Separatist Council consisted of ten leaders...Why not let competitors choose one of the ten leaders? - Po Nudo - Tikkes - Nute Gunray - ... EU characters : - Xizor is a good idea, Samiel_Fronsac

I vote for fairytalejedi's portrayal of the princess. I see Leia being low-level (i.e. < level 5) at the beginning of the movies and she manages to cover her abilities well at that point in time.
As for characters for next time, what about Asajj Ventress? Is she considered EU since she was never in a movie, only the TV cartoons. I really want to see people's ideas on Grevious since I'm having a hard time coming up with good stats for him but I know he's a movie character.
