I would like to take the opportunity to announce that Wizards of the Coast is providing Star Wars Miniatures prize support for the following large conventions in 2009:
• Wizard World Chicago, 8/6 – 8/9 Saturday, Aug 8, 11am. 150 point constructed tournament Saturday, Aug 8, 4pm. 100 point Jedi Academy sealed booster tournament Sunday, Aug 9, 11am. 200 point constructed tournament Demo's running all weekend and on demand pick up events No convention entry fees. I may have to reconsider hitting my hometown convention. WWC has really been a bust the last few years IMHO. Glad to see SWM getting some play at WWC.

As you know, monthly LGS support (league kits) was not in the budget for 2009. I know that you will join me is my effort to have that decision reconsidered for 2010. The best way we can help ourselves in this effort is to continue to report events through the DCI webpage. Now that we have a casual play option, we, as a player community can demonstrate the level of player involvement for Star Wars miniatures. Who has to report those, players or venues? And, are international venues included in that proposal?

Just a simple note to any planning to attend DragonCon that the event schedule has been updated as of today. I've added additional events and changed the order of some of them to be more conducive to everyone's enjoyment.
I look forward to seeing many of you there!

Let me know if there are any changes to the event schedule or point totals for events and I will update the main post on this thread. We did not know specifically about the Luke before we put up sealed events for JA.

Are there any plans to run any events at Baltimore Comic Con this year?

• GenCon, 8/13 – 8/16 Thursday, Aug 13, 6pm. Clone Wars Mass Battle Friday, Aug 14, 9am. Clone Wars Mass Battle The way you are talking about the event, it seems as if it is only being run once, yet there are two times. Is this two separate times for the event to be run twice, or is the Friday morning time to finish it up if it runs too late Thursday night?
