I agree with you Bill, it just didn't come out the way I wanted it too. I just like to see the characters that "everyone will want" be able to be purchased by "everyone." I meant that in proportion to the price of the packs, there is way more money being made from sales of singles, and if GMLS and the new Yoda turn out to be VR, the there are probably many people who would not be able to acquire those figures. Yes, Wizards has done a good job of making the majority of competetive figures available to everybody, and that is one of the things that keeps this game going; I have been burned out on many games that were just the opposite, where you needed to fork out the Benjamins to win, and I'm happy that this game is not one of those.
As I said, I agree with you, it just didn't come out the right way (I have a problem with that, says my college writing professor:D ) I figured that was what you were trying to say, so I was just clarifying the point

All of the money should not be made on the secondary market where Wizards does not make a cent from singles sales (different topic for different thread; I have nothing against secondary market sales or sales of singles, I buy singles all of the time). What Bill said. And I would add that if it came down to strictly booster sales my collection would be a helluva lot smaller. I have all but pleaded with my LGS owner to sell single commons and uncommons to me, but he doesn't want to break boosters and get stuck with rares and very rares that he doesn't think will move. It's not worth it to him to bust a $110 case so I can give him $30-50 for single uncommons and commons.
Really I can't say that I blame him. But instead of $50 he is making nothing off me. Well, nothing beyond the 2-case purchase.

If the singles made sense to him, he'd do it. If he listened to you, he'd be losing money on stock he probably can't move, solely for your benefit. On top of that, he probably figures lost sales if you could just buy all the singles you want instead of your 2 cases.
I know you understand this. I just thought it needed to be stated, lest it sound like your LGS owner is being silly by not wanting your singles business.

Really I can't say that I blame him. But instead of $50 he is making nothing off me. Well, nothing beyond the 2-case purchase. I'm just in a different boat than some of you guys, then. Do you guys collect full sets, or just certain pieces? I used to buy cases when the game first started up, but now I just go for certain pieces. I usually just buy a few boosters here and there, and then I'll trade for the things that I want. I guess I just get lucky that the guys at my LGS go for entire sets and get extras, so I can get more for each mini if I have what they're missing.
I guess its just me, but I don't really have to buy singles all that often to get what I want (but I'm also a poor college student). Maybe I'm just settling for what I get in packs instead of going after what I want. IDK. I guess that's where my point of view comes from. I have no problem with the singles market, though.
If my LGS actually had a good selection of single to choose from than I'd probably be more inclined to buy singles more often, and probably acquire figures that I probably wouldn't want otherwise. I feel your pain Boris.
Okay, enough babbling...

Nope, didn't mean to suggest that at all (which is why I said I didn't blame him). Still, I would definitely buy up the grunts I need if he made them available to me.

Not sure why people keep trying to post this stuff. It's just going to be deleted by a mod. Seriously, unless it's official, don't bother posting a link like that.
Edit: thank you for removing that. I'd rather not see this thread be eliminated.
