This weekend we played a huge battle at my place. 450 points of Rebels defending their temple base on Yavin from the on slaught of 650 points Imperial troopers.

The Battle field.

Objectives: Their where 4 objects. Each was a room inside the rebel base. The Hanger controls, The power control, the defense controls and the medical station. Who ever held the most at the end of the game won.

Specail rules:

I threw sandbags out and the rebels recieved +6 cover if in base to base with the bags.

Each side had scouts which could deploy ahead of the main force 12 squares.

Activations: All the figures were broken up into roughly 50points worth of troopers to form squads. You activated squads instead of individual figures. There where almost 100 piece on the table. So we had to speed up the activiations. It worked really well.

Three of the imperial squads had to be brought on as reinforcements after turn 6 and only when the idenical squad on the table was destoyed or disbanded.

Trees: we played the trees as if you can see into or out of but not through them. This was to prepresent the think forests around the temple.

The medical station provided healing. The Power Room controled doors and the defense room controled the Golan Guns.

I used a large battle grid mat for D&D for the field of battle and used waterbased earsable makers to make terrian and trees incase they do moved.

The Rebels deployed in the temple base opting to not deploy thier scouts foward.

The Imperials deployed along the far board edge in the woods. They had more men than their was board edge so some ahd to be held off and the scouts deployed 12 forward.

The Imperials began advancing

The rebels Golan Guns were underestimated and clumps of Imperial troopers were whiped out almost imediately.

The Imperial responded by thining the lines of the Rebel defenses.

The AT dispatched the Golan Guns as well.

So the Rebels retreated into the temple.

Allowing the Imperials to advance quickly.

Thats when the imperials brought on their fresh squads of storm and navy troopers.

The AT covered their advance and helped with opening doors.

Once the extra troopers arrived they began the assault on the complex interior and entered the base.

Fighting the the halls turn fierce and bloody (wookie hair was everywhere and it smelled like dead dog).

Luke Quickly dispatched squad after squad of imperials.

In the last two turn of the game the imperials made their final assault to take objectives.

the Stormed the Medial center

But the rebel pilots grenades proved to be too much for but the most seasoned imperials

The navy troopers made a final assault on the defese station

But once again Luke came though for the rebels.

The games ended in 12 turns. Final score. Each side control one onjective and the other two where contended. Both side had suffered heavy losses.

Over all it was a blast. Very balanced senerior. Hope you enjoy the write up and pics.

looks really neat! I made my own 3D map (not based on any paticular theme). It really is more fun to play on it, things seem more real..

You know, in general I really love people who play Star Wars Minis.  You could almost call them "Star Wars Minis Gamers." I'm just saying.

By the way, stop posting right before I hit "Post..."!

Wow! Looks like a great battle. I prefer large battles - 200 points at the very least.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical

Thanks for all ther replies

I love doing 3D terrian. I play alot of other games like warhammer, flames of war, warmachine, and various other historical games so I have alot fo terrain to start out with.

The hall ways where made from matboard for framing pictures. Can pick it up for cheap at most art stores. Jusdt cut to size and then cut the 1 inch grid for the game. Alot of the consuls are made out of it too.

The DS Adept is just a custom I did. Have two of tehm and want to make one look diffrent. Saw something similar to it on a post and felt inspired.
