This weekend we played a huge battle at my place. 450 points of Rebels defending their temple base on Yavin from the on slaught of 650 points Imperial troopers.
The Battle field.

Objectives: Their where 4 objects. Each was a room inside the rebel base. The Hanger controls, The power control, the defense controls and the medical station. Who ever held the most at the end of the game won.
Specail rules:
I threw sandbags out and the rebels recieved +6 cover if in base to base with the bags.
Each side had scouts which could deploy ahead of the main force 12 squares.
Activations: All the figures were broken up into roughly 50points worth of troopers to form squads. You activated squads instead of individual figures. There where almost 100 piece on the table. So we had to speed up the activiations. It worked really well.

Three of the imperial squads had to be brought on as reinforcements after turn 6 and only when the idenical squad on the table was destoyed or disbanded.
Trees: we played the trees as if you can see into or out of but not through them. This was to prepresent the think forests around the temple.
The medical station provided healing. The Power Room controled doors and the defense room controled the Golan Guns.
I used a large battle grid mat for D&D for the field of battle and used waterbased earsable makers to make terrian and trees incase they do moved.
The Rebels deployed in the temple base opting to not deploy thier scouts foward.

The Imperials deployed along the far board edge in the woods. They had more men than their was board edge so some ahd to be held off and the scouts deployed 12 forward.

The Imperials began advancing

The rebels Golan Guns were underestimated and clumps of Imperial troopers were whiped out almost imediately.

The Imperial responded by thining the lines of the Rebel defenses.

The AT dispatched the Golan Guns as well.
