Dude, you fell right into my trap!

I've got one. It's at my parents' and it may take me a while to get, but it's happening now.

I'm in my Catholic School uniform in the picture too.

Hilarious.

And it will be the only picture of me on the internet! Perfect.

It'll also be proof that I was a SWM nerd before all of you! (Okay, SW MiniFIG, but close enough.)

I always thought everything that one needs to know about public school socialization could be learned by reading "Lord of the Flies".

BAM!

Right on target, dude!

So, you think you know paper-fu, eh?

Okay, fine!

I'm way better at building with Lego than all of you.

I have proof.

It's NOT debatable.

Hm... my home-brew Star Destroyer is pretty cool, but no picture of it at work...

Ooo. . . I just got served.

In case anyone needs it spelled out, my original point here was that we can all talk about our accomplishments or credentials forever and it won't solve anything. And you never know that your accomplishments, whether they be paper or Lego related, won't be trumped by someone else.

"There's always a bigger fish."

Thanks, Nickname, for the demonstrativeness of your post and for playing along.

And, yeah, demonstrativeness is a word, as of right now, because I said so!

It's cool seeing them though, particularly people's LEGO creations. Origami is mostly the same old stuff. Typically thrown away, but I thought that octopus was cool enough to earn a semi-permanent spot on my shelf o' junk.

Same with hearing about Novula writing some books. I'm genuinely interested in checking them out regardless of the me-fest that prompted mentioning it in the first place.

First of all, who said I was homeschooled? I have not stated that I was or not; for all you know, I could be a public school teacher myself... and I'm not saying that I am. An argument must be presentable regardless of the person presenting it themselves.

So here you do distinguish homeschooling and public schooling to be two different things. That's good. However, it contradicts the mention that klecser would know more about homeschooling than a homeschooler themselves, thereby rendering most of his arguments meaningless.

It has been said many times that if a homeschool student had been put through public school, as you have just said, they would do just as well as if they had been homeschooled; but you are wrong. An extremely large majority of real homeschoolers, (not those that sit on the couch and watch TV while they should be doing schoolwork), are all fairly if not very much successful in their pursuit of education. How, then, does that compare with the ratio to public school students? Not very well. You see, it is because of the child's time with the parent that makes the education ten times better than a public school one.

If we were going to use klecser's logic here, I would have the superior opinion over yours, as I am an "expert" in the field of debate. The time limits you receive, the rebuttal... You need to present your arguments in a short amount of time, and counterattack the opposing person(s) with equal ease, rather than say, "...and the rest of what you just said is junk." Before you had said anything about not being on anyone's side, I would have said you were more in favor of public schooling. I'm talking a fair moderator here, one who takes no side, but listens with wisdom and interest.

I bet I can tell you why more homeschoolers would do better, apply themselves more etc. They have one, nigh omnipresent figure in their life, allowing that figure to have more knowledge of the child and their doings so as to be able to correctly utilize control and discipline. Despite schools being about the next closest thing to a jail as far as limiting individual choice goes they can't control what you do/don't do at home.

and I'll challenge haven on the lego statement. And as long as we include minis in the pic it's on topic for the thread of fun.
