I'm no minis gamer, but I read the scenario for the story. Add to the mix my favorite SW character, and it was not-miss scenario.
What I'm most intrigued about the scenario, though, is placing it on the timeline. We know it has to be set sometime in 28 ABY, around the time of Destiny's Way, due to mention of the scenario taking place soon after the reorganization of the New Republic into the Galactic Alliance. The mention of Katarn and group being on an outpost planet near the Imperial Remnant is also a clue, with him and Jan Ors being in the area around the time of Force Heretic I, as per Equals and Opposites in Tales #21.
Tying the mission into what happened in that issue is not really possible, as the planet mentioned in the article is described as near the Imperial Remnant, while Ord Sedra--the planet in the comic--is described as in it. Based on what happened in the comic, with a Yuuzhan Vong and Peace Brigade force being thwarted by Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors, this scenario can likely take place either right before, or right after it. It seems more likely to me, though, that this would take place a little while after, as any Vong or Peace Brigade member that temporarily escaped from custody on Ord Sedra during the comic and managed to contact any other allies would let the others in the area know of Katarn's presence, and thus have the Jeedai hunter ready to make a move against him.
Wow, I'm kind of thinking too hard about a simple little minis scenario, aren't I?

Another great scenario by Sterling Hersey. Well done sir; looking forward to trying this out (my favorite is still the Darth Vader hunt on the hardboard map from 2005).

Wow, I'm kind of thinking too hard about a simple little minis scenario, aren't I? It just goes to show why even with smaller stories like the scenarios that it's important to get the continuity right. Many minis scenarios try to represent any number of battles that could be going on in a certain time frame. This works best when more generic type characters are involved. Rebel forces engage Imperial forces all the time, for instance, so fixing an exact point in time isn't as critical.
However, when a named character is used, it's another story. Sometimes, I'll simply use a named character to represent an unnamed one, so I can use the mini in the scenario but not worry about continuity issues. This time, I wanted to use Katarn against the Vong, but also including Galactic Alliance pieces placed it in a narrow range in the timeline - before the defeat of the YV, but after the creation of the GA.
The time frame you suggest is correct. I figure it's before the Imperial Remnant story, but there's no reason that I know of why it couldn't be afterwards. It's left a bit vague because this is a new story, not based on something else. Since a small scenario is not normally intended to be a major event, we try to avoid pinning down characters in the timeline if we don't have to do it. Lucasfilm likes to keep the options as open as possible for future stories.
Also, how the Star Wars Tales series fits into canon is often hazy. Dark Horse lists it as part of Infinities, but some stories cross over or refer to others that are part of canon, so it's best for us to avoid directly tying into a Tales story in most cases.
However, this isn't the first time I've used Katarn in this fashion. He also shows up in an Attack on Endor scenario pack scenario.

Continuity is not at all important to me either... I thought it was a great scenario! I started doing this game by primarily doing scenario's with UM books. I still stuck with the game though. Your scenario's are always great! It was fun to play.

the computor tech sets up in area C? should that be area a? Yes, It must be a typo in the description. It says the tech starts in Area C where it should be Area A. It is suppose to escape to C after 4 rounds.
