Jedi Dade: I'm curious to know why you think the scale is off on the "Where Giants Tread" map. Granted, the YT-1300 on the map covers a smaller area than the deckplan of the Millennium Falcon in SotG does, but if you look at the stats, the ship's character-scale fighting space is 12x12. This seems fairly standard for Colossal vehicles (although the core rulebook puts the AT-AT at 6x12), and if you look at the landing pads on the map, they're all 12x12 squares. So while the ships might be a bit off scale, they're in line with the official Saga stats.
Also, for the record, I've established from Corey Macourek, the map's designer, that the other ships in the map are based on the Action VI transport, the Easyride Air Taxi, and the Coruscant Air Bus. The Action VI and the Air Bus are undoubtedly off-scale for the map (the Action VI in SotG doesn't even have a character-scale fighting space), and the Air Taxi looks to be sitting on the tarmac upside down (or else it flies upside down, judging by the pic on wookieepedia). Just FYI.

Basically I think its off because the stated length of the falcon is 26+ meters long which is more then 12x1.5 (18). also I believe that the "official length of the falcon is too small given the on screen evidence of its size in comparison with other things, people, etc. In order for the it to be "in scale" with people its a LOT larger than that. Now I freely admit I'm a Falcon NUT. I have probably a dozen or so models of it in a variety of scales. a model that is in scale with the SW minis is roughly twice the size of the one in the map... ignoring the game rules and stats, and going by my modeling background. If you look at my session pics wher I actualyl printed that map at double the scale and placed ship a model of the falcon Ihave on the map (the model is roughly 1/48 which is a littl 'too' big for the mini's) it looks darn close to perfect... see my post on page 8 for the pics. But I included both scales because 1 - I know not everyone is a falcon Nut like me, 2 - not everyone is going to want to play on a map that large, 3- some people just want to play the module (and maps) as written within the rules under some sense of game balance For my game it went extremely well with the gigantic map... it was a gaming "moment" when I moved the game to a large open space in the basement where I could roll it out Jedi Dade

Did you make every square count as double movement or something? Also, in order to get the Falcon in scale, you end up with oversized office furniture in the building on the map. Being a Falcon nut, I take it having the ship in scale was more important than the furniture. For me, I think it would be the opposite. The map is pretty darn big as it is: too big for our gaming table, so we're still going to have to end up putting it on the floor. Also, one of my players already has a cardstock model of the Falcon that is roughly 12 squares long, so it's just about a perfect fit for the default map scale. And we're trying to see if we can put together cardstock models of the other ships too (I've also managed to score an AT-AT "mini" for a reasonable price; speaking of the AT-AT, is it in scale on the default map?).

I made two versions of the map one double scaled (2 inch squares) one scaled as indicated to 1 inch squares.Yes whe I did it the furniture was too large. The fighting did not really take place in the building, altough I did have one PC run through it, and one over it on the roof. The AT-AT I uised is the WOTC one and it was already in scale with the mini's so whe the falcon in scale as well it looked pretty good. I posted pics of me setting up that sesson... looking at the second pic you can see that I did not rescale the chairs... so they turned into love seats i169.photobucket.com/albums/u222/Jedi_Da...i169.photobucket.com/albums/u222/Jedi_Da...As for the scale of the AT-AT... like I said its in scale with the mini's, and its in scale with the 12x12 Yt-1300 (which I think is way too small) If you scale the players ship up, and the map accordingly everything "looks" correct (see the first pic - link above). AS for the other ships I used toys and models I had around for them as they are essentially "terrain" for this fight. To your comment about the fighting space in the RAW... OK I might buy that the landing pad footprint ts 12x12 but the ship... not even close. After I scaled up the map the landing circle was almost "perfect" for my 1/48 falcon model, and looked "right" wit the mini's so that's why "I" feel its a better option. I'm not trying to convince you really just stating what I did and why. Scaling it up makes teh encounter a lot more challenging as there is a TON of ground to cover. Also in my game I have special "jedi hunter squads" that include a few snipers with eleite troopers mixed in. I use them if the players have somehow announced to the authroities that Jedi are in the area... guess what tey announced it at the "safehouse encounter" so when they go here there was a few "extra" stormies about that were BADASS... it turned out to be the best encounter of the 2 modules... which I ran as 1 LONG module since they are basically a single storyline that starts entering coruscant, busting out of coruscant and saving their buddies back at he resrugance. All Goodness. Jedi Dade
