Visiting Kashyyyk? Watch out for the poisonous viper kinrath and the batlike mykal!

The Kinraith's stats either don't include weapon focus or they accidently include an attack penalty for being large.

I've got no idea whether the picture of the Mykal with the KotOR targeting gui is terrible journalism or awesome.

Yes, I saw this on the front page when I logged in too, but Kashyyk is not a part of Dawn of Defiance, to my knowledge. Is there a reason why you posted it here, in addition to the posting on the site itself?

Most intriguing...Chadwik, you also posted that DOD 8 would be up soon. Given that this thread is directly linked on the main site, this would suggest that you are one of the writers / developers.

btw...I like the new critters!

Can you confirm that DOD 8 will be up next week?

Also, as Nefandus asked, why is this thread posted here?

Creatures of KOTOR #3]Jedi and other Force-users have learned that kinrath eggs contain red crystals that can be used as the power source for lightsabers. Indeed, many Padawans are sent to hunt for these eggs as part of their final test to create their own lightsaber.

Ok... so now crystals are the power sources for lightsabers? I thought what powered the lightsaber was "special energy cell that costs ten times what an ordinary energy cell costs", not the lightsaber crystal? Just pointing out what I consider to be a bit of an wording error. Also, [in the game] couldn't a Jedi find more than just red Adegan crystals in Kinrath eggs? I could be wrong on this last acc wrote:

Question: would it kill the embryo inside the crystal egg? Is this darkside worthy if jedi use it as a lightsaber crystal? Would it hatch? what then?

The crystal is inside the egg, not the egg. This article could be suggesting that the kinrath eggs themselves each actually contain a crystal, but I think that's absurd seeing as how kinrath are vermin and will thus reproduce as such, creating a possibly huge source of available lightsaber crystals.

I always thought of it as the eggs being laid over an already-formed crystal formation and they are using these crystals as a sort of incubator. That's why the kinrath (at least on Dantooine) holed up in this cave - because it had a great source of incubators for their eggs. It could also explain the "infestation" of kinrath on Dantooine.

Just my .02 credits... *shrug*

P.S. As vermin, I HIGHLY doubt any self-respecting GM would award any sort of dark side point for killing any and all kinrath/eggs, especially in the case of an infestation.
