I have no reason to not believe, but a general rule of thumb is to take advice from anonymous, faceless posters with several grains of salt.

But the present case is about private law, property and rights. LucasArts may have knowledge of this software and say "it's ok, you can do it", or it may say "it's infringing our rights!".
If you enter my house and start living there, you are not infringing my rights until I ask you to get out.
Of course, law is different from place to place, culture to ulture between common law and roman germanic law, etc.
